Can't really be thankful enough for this Embassy and their very polite and professional staffs. Got my very first German Visa very smoothly. I wasn't asked many questions in German language. Just few basics, and the most of the time they were just checking my documents.
I would suggest for everyone who is going to apply for German Visa, you need not to be panic or anxious. Just be confident and have a complete documents followed by German Visa Checklist which can be downloaded from India.diplo.de.
Dankeschön.

My experience at the German Embassy was excellent. From the security gate to the Visa Section, the Embassy staff is very supportive, kind, helpful and talks with a pleasant smile on their faces. And I got my Visa within a month.😍

Nice helpful and highly efficient working staff...
Absolutely no problem with student visa... If you have all the required documents arranged in one place then the interview is going to be fine and you will anyways get a visa.

Now the time that is normally taken for visa approval ... Is usually 16 to 19 working days or in other words 20 to 25 days. In my case it took about 16 working days for the approval and 1 working day by VFS for stamping. Actually the time taken is due to the long response time of the German competent aliens office where the documents are sent for verification.

Amazing experience.
The people are friendly and know how to do there Job. I arrived there during covid times and all health measures were taken perfectly . The lady for interview at counter no 1 was so professional and friendly . It didn’t felt me like I’m giving a interview it was more like a general talking between two people.
Also I was friendly and greetings in return because they are also Humans just doing there job. I got my visa next week.

I went there first time and read reviews of people .about there bad experience and I was nervous to about it.
But I think that’s only for those who are not prepared and don’t have the full documents .
Just keep your application and documents 100% and have a honest visit, be friendly it’s never a problem .

While I was waiting to go inside there was one guy and his mother came to embassy because the guy needed “Admission in university “ and I told him Embassy can’t help you to give admission . But he denied and continued arguing with security.
So just don’t bother the negative review
Just be honest , genuine visit and it will be 100% fine

*My situation:* I was waiting for my passport to come which was a little delayed as per me as it took me “20 days” from German embassy to get my passport for a short business trip. Based on that I applied for a tourist visa for my wife on 25 June hoping to get it before our trip on 12 July, I got it in 13 days time after follow ups done.

Based on this experience with German Embassy in New Delhi I am rating them.

*Pros:*
1. Every interaction with embassy on phone as well as email is very professional.
2. They are replying very positively on email and phone.
3. These people will get the job done when they get your message correctly.

*Opportunity areas:*
1. Visa section doesn’t speak to people on phone and if you are trying to reach them they wont be available. I made almost 100 calls but could only get through to operator who was also very helpful in his professional limits. Nevertheless visa section will reply on email.
2. Sometimes they may not reply to all the emails due to busyness of their work (High applications by students or some interim work load). This may affect your urgencies.
3. Going to German embassy in New Delhi is NOT a solution as there is no entry and only communication on email.

*My recommendation:*
1. Interact by email and they will support as its a good team that works there for making applications possible
2. Dont seek special attention as they have their own priorities rather you must follow the system that works there. At least apply 30 days in advance!
3. Embassy should have a way of tracking applications better that one currently used and should also be more proactive in communication with applicants; this may relieve a lot of tension to people who come from far off.

All in all I think its a great team with a great leader and they are getting better day by day!

Wish you all the very best.

Warmest regards,
Anupam Rawat

I was one of the people who was repatriated during the beginning of the ongoing pandemic. Till today I am grateful to the amazing job the whole team did on this! They started the repatriation program on a Sunday and 4 days later I was already back home. Even though no national and international travel was allowed and the tourists had to be picked up by chartered busses in different parts all over India. Thanks a lot!

Horrible experience for family reunion visa ,VFS neither has any knowledge regarding FRV for partners living in Germany for more than 1 Year i.e., where the appointment for the visa is to be booked ( With VFS or Embassy itself). The VFS people talk like illerates .They don't know what to do with appointment which were booked for FRV with the German embassy before the lockdown, instead they argue that embassy books no appointment.I Want to ask then, why VFS directs the people asking for FRV {with partners living for more than 1 year in germany,} to book appointment with german embassy ? They are misdirecting the people and sound like illerates thus adding to the agony and confusion for the seeking people.

Well after reading all the comments here I would like to add some missing coins which we all need to understand that "Visa" is depends on a german mission in india, most common this I have read is " rude staff, no punctuality , and all however know that we are the applicant going to ask for visa because we want to go to their country no matter why you want to go there however the point is Its "us" first then them. Usually on Visa agency after having so much of information provided by embassies people tend to do and ask stupid stuff which can be tiring for any fast paced working environment its not that I am trying to say that they are right with whatever they are doing however we need to know that " its not a Five Star Hotel or Resort" you are visiting, The only thing you would expect from any embassy that you get your visa or purpose done. If you expect more I strongly believe the word " no one can please anyone" so guys its good that we have the services anyways we get what we want and they were happy to have couple of these embassies in our country imagine if there was only one and there were few people to attend you X no of people X no staff X wait hours X waiting time for your Visa.
I do respect all your point and I believe there could be a better way to operate such important place however if reviews were something embassies following then I bet.. you wouldn't be visiting the embassies they would have come to your place and give you the Visa ( no service Charge)
