The sunset point is serene with lesser flamingo feeding on alge of salt desert. The wading birds, chirping of birds and white Rann form a great background. Road is 8 kms from Dholavira. There are good number of home stays and resorts. Resorts are not conventional but quite comfortable I must say. Full moon nights, folk music by local courtesan, local food and howling of wolves are a must see and feel experience. Nearest town is Rapar 100 kms away. The white salt desert is natural. If it rains the salt turns into mud as it melts away. Day break is full of birds chirping.

The Harappan civilization was a great civilization in which dholavira was one of the main cities. To understand and know dholavira you need a good guide of which Nagji Parmar is very Kwonledgeable.

Most genuine person I have met. The guide is a young chap, quite knowledgeable and resourceful. Wonderful excavation since the 2000 BC and one of the well known water harvesting civilization is in here .

Other than that, quite enjoyable walk with these guides. These guides were involved when JP Joshi excavated this area. They too undergo training and can speak in other language like english

Mr. Nagji Parmar guided me through the Harappan site for two hours. Excellent guide. Knowledgeable. No hype and only factual information. He is a resident of Dholavira village and his family was actually owning and farming the land under which the Harappan city was lying. After it was acquired by ASI he worked in the excavation work. So he could acquire firsthand information about the site. Best guide.

Dholavira are 5000 years old Harappan ruins.we got a really good guide Mr.Nagji Parmar who took us around and explained in details how the ancient people lived ,their life style,houses,their water storage system etc.we were extreamly happy with his services.Enjoyed roaming around the site as we got lot of information.
