It's a very beautiful place, a must visit..but the problem is the mode of transportation. Either you have to take a private cab or need to stay nearby options which are comparatively expensive. If you rent a car also they'll charge around 3000 per day but only in the morning and evening we can go to the desert because of the climate so a full day renting is not a good option..There is no other nearby destination as well to visit ..

A must visit treasure of India 🇮🇳. The Rann of Kutch is a magical place. It's a photographer's paradise, offering breathtaking views at sunrise and sunset. Nearby cities and attractions are worth visiting too. The annual Rann Utsav festival transforms this quiet desert into a vibrant cultural hub, showcasing traditional music, dance, and crafts of Gujarat and the Kutch region. It’s not just a destination but an unforgettable experience.

Superb experience. Wonderful place to visit during the Rann festival. Staying in the home stay is a life time experience here. The food they provide is very tasty. Don't forget to visit the magnetic field on the way to Bhuj.

Very nice place to visit. Do visit it n winter on full moon day or on one day before and after full moon day, you will witness mesmerizing beauty. We witnessed a nice sunset and then sunrise and then we again entered the Rann at around 11-11:30 to witness the full moon glory ( white desert in the night ). Don't go much ahead in the Rann as you might get lost in the wrong direction as google maps don't work there. You can get to enjoy performances of local artists arranged by the govt. just ouside the Rann during the Rann Utsav.

It's a magical place. It looks so beautiful. In December starting, the water wasn't fully dried so we had to be careful while walking on it but nevertheless the place is worth visiting once in your lifetime.

Amazing place ( Salt Dessert)

There are multiple places covered with Sand ( called desert), There are again several places covered with snow. BUT there is only one place covered with SALT and yes that's our Rann of Kutch.

We have visited during Rann Utsav. During this there is a huge market setup for food, local shoping items and in evening there is music shows by artist.

You can reach there and from car parking area either u can walk or take a camel ride to reach the main spot of Rann. Shops for tea, Pani puri, chaat, samosa chips are available there.

Enjoy the sunset and sunrise there

Rann of Kutch – One Of The Largest White Salt Deserts

Walking amidst a white sand desert is not what any one dreams of but in Gujarat, you can! Rann of Kutch in Gujarat is known to be one of the largest white salt deserts in India and is a must visit, simply for the breathtaking view that it offers. It is one of the best places to visit in summer in Gujarat. A stunning sunset is your treat for the day and finding a decent accommodation at the nearby villages of Hodka and Dhordo will add an extra authentic touch to your trip. Don’t miss out on this place during the exclusive Rann Utsav during December to March.

Spectacular place with vast lands covered with salt
Place to visit
Not to miss the desert during full moon with the salt glistening in the night!
The interesting part of this is during monsoon season from July to September the marshes are filled with sea water and in the coming months in drying the salt remains back giving the white color to the entire desert. When summer sets in the salt again dissolves giving brown color to the desert again
70% in India & 30% exists in Pakistan this is one of the few sand marshes in the world

Magical place one must visit in the winter to enjoy the world famous Rann Utsav. The white desert is spectacular as far as your eye can see. During Rann Utsav there will be many varieties of food stalls and shops for purchasing. You can enjoy several activities here like Paragliding, there's children play zone too. Toilets are built at the beginning, also you need to fill forms with details to enter which you can also do online. There are tents available to rent for to spend overnight or few days, but they are a bit costlier. Otherwise you can come in the morning, spend a day and leave in the evening.

Undescribable beauty of nature, unless seen by own eyes. A must visit. Endless layout of crystalline white salt desert, sparkling in sunlight & full moon. Taking breathtaking hues in setting sun.
The endless beauty of whiteness being topped by vibrant colors of camel carts, horses & traditional dresses of locals.
The Raan festival is huge elaborate and mulifaceted.
A wondrous experience.

The Rann of Kutch is located mostly in the Indian state of Gujarat, specifically Kutch district, for which it is named. Some parts extend into the Pakistani province of Sindh. The word Rann means "salt marsh".

The Rann of Kutch covers around 26,000 square kilometres (10,000 square miles). The Great Rann of Kutch is the larger portion of the Rann. It extends east and west, with the Thar Desert to the north and the low hills of Kutch to the south. The Indus River Delta lies to the west in southern Pakistan. The Little Rann of Kutch lies southeast of the Great Rann, and extends southwards to the Gulf of Kutch.

Many rivers originating in Rajasthan and Gujarat flow into the Rann of Kutch, including the Luni, Bhuki, Bharud, Nara, Kharod, Banas, Saraswati, Rupen, Bambhan, and Machchhu.Kori Creek and Sir Creek, tidal creeks which are part of the Indus River Delta, are located at the western end of the Great Rann.

The surface is generally flat and very close to sea level, and most of the Rann floods annually during the monsoon season. There are areas of sandy higher ground, known as bets or medaks, which lie two to three metres above flood level. Trees and shrubs grow on the bets, and they provide refuges for wildlife during the annual floods.
