The guard gate is an entrence gate for the rock fort. The structure of the gate is so attractive and feeling like history of the rock fort. The door are too big and widthy. The wall is built around the circumstances of the fort. It is the main entrence of the fort.

Business hub for various textiles and jewel merchants. Nsc Bose road, west bouleward road, singarathoppu all mainly business centres. Archeological monuments also situated in this area.

A place filled with history. From pallavas to British, this gate was used to protect the rock fort and rock fort temple. Now the whole area is taken over by shops. Always crowded

The place is lively. But the sarounding scenes, Stinking Teppakkulam, roadencroched hawkers, dust are Indian Trademark. All the transgenders(Thiru nangai) should be given Monthly Pension by diverting religious funds. They are many in that area.

At weekend and festival time it's very rushed and hard to purchase roadside products. Kindly take care of your our thinks and children

The juice was real fruit juice offcourse sugar syrup was added to it

We had 1 grape 🍇 juice 1 Nagari shabbat which costed us ₹ 24 rupees in total

We were surprised 😮 for the value for money this shop was offering
Then we had pineapple 🍍 juice whichbwas also awesome for a government run shop at ₹12.

The shop is not well branded and even though it's on the road it is easy to miss

The shop is before the Chintamani restaurant and after the sipper market.

Definitely this place on sunny summer day will refresh you and quench you thirsty body and replenish needed strength but not harming your budget

Do try once it is just opposite to the tempakulam or pond on the left side on the way out .

The main guard gate is on the north east location of tiruchy. A fort was built during 16 th century by viswanatha nayakkar to protect the city. This used to be entrance where the main guards were positioned during those time. Thus the name main guard gate.
Through this we can get to the rock fort temple and singarathopu. The way of full of pathway shop and usually crowded. A large theppakulam is near the entrance

This has been recently painted (Dec 2021) and is well maintained as you see from the picture I have uploaded.

But this gate is mizzled within the busy market area so it is quite easy to miss.

Glad the authorities have stopped any vehicle movement from it. Evenings it looks nice.
