Kayalpura Homestay in Kollam

I stayed at Kayalpura for 2 days from 28th and 29th October.
This place in Kollam was superb! Outstanding! Mind blowing! Serene! Lovely! And most importantly, Homely! It was love at first sight with the place when I saw kayalpura Homestay. Haris and Biju were super hosts for us. we were greeted by Welcome Drinks and were given our rooms which was super clean and tidy. The place had an amazing vibe! Positivity! Heavenly feel! So, to all those who are going to Kollam for any reason, this is the place to be! It's like a must stay place there! For the ones visiting Kollam and places nearby do stay at Kayalpura and enjoy the lovely views and hospitality of Haris and Biju

I stayed here with family for two nights… The room is very cozy room .
The lake view is excellent with very soothing breeze. The food is extra ordinary and the chef Mr. Ranjith took care of all our culinary special requests. Mr. Haris is a Super host and was available to take care of us from check in to check out. Ideal spot for an extended family or friends reunion vacation trip or just chilling out for a few days.. We plan to go back soon..

It’s a small, but very beautiful home stay at the banks of Ashtamudi. Very good food especially seafood. They have 3 rooms waterfront. Their hospitality is commendable and the cook needs special appreciation. Overall a great experience. Suitable for family get together.

we as a family stayed in this small hevan 3 days. It was really an amazing experience. Though we went in summer time, we never felt the heat while staying in this beautiful place. Service was really good with tasty home made food. overall, we had a very pleasant experience. I felt that we could have stayed there for a week time if we could extend our leaves.

A place away from the Madding crowd, where there are peace and tranquility. An absolute relaxation sets in, the moment you set foot on the place. The ambiance of the homestay is breathtaking. Ashtamudi Lake is your front yard, the green lush, and the wind adds to the mood. The service is great the commute is easy, and the rooms were clean. I and my friend had a great time.

This is best place to stay with family in kollam. Excellent view of backwaters, calm, homely atmosphere, good care by Mr & Mrs Anzar. Home cooked food was nice and excellent. Backwaters cruise was arranged. We enjoyed it.

We had a wonderful stay at this homely homestay overlooking the vast expanse of backwaters.

From the moment we landed in Kollam auto stand to reach Kayalpura Homestay till the moment we were dropped back - all our request were taken care in a polite, proactive and responsible way.

We had booked for a day’s stay at this idyllic place with an intention to just unwind - do nothing much but just read, browse, and soak in the solitude. This place has just turned out the way we have thought. Once we settled in, we soon got into the same groove of slow paced life on the backwaters.

The view of the serene backwaters from the room – sight of fishermen rowing catamaran and the far away sight of motorised fishing boats thudding their way to the sea all was just prefect setting for our stay.

My impatient partner had a fishing rod to try his luck and the host was proactive to get fresh shrimps for the bait.

Here are some observations about this homestay.

1. Right place to unwind, read, and browse without any disturbances.

2. Verdant view ideal for daydreaming and chalking out new ideas

3. Homely food - loved the breakfast (broken wheat and payar)

For those who have time and inclination, there are many other places to explore in and around this homestay. For example, you can go for a boat ride which takes you through the labyrinth of small water strips and see life up-close in the inside part of this town. Apart from that, you can take a houseboat or a boat for a day's cruise exploring the backwater area.

Thanks to the host, they arranged an auto to take us to the Thangassery light house. It was an exhilarating trip to the top of this lighthouse and view of the sea in the evening jaded sunlight was just memorable.

Special thanks to the host for dropping us to the railway station in his car.

Besides, it was great to see the extended family involved in the upkeep of this place and making homely lunch and special dinner for us. To sum it, it was a deserving break for us.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Kollam, on the ashtamudi lake bed is an undiscovered gem - kayalpura homestay. A home away from home, a cozy homestay, with an extremely sweet natured and indulgent cook who manages to whip up any dish in the kerala cuisine, this place is ideal when one wants to escape the rigours of city life. Unforgettable is the memory of anna ensuring my wish for parippu wada was met.... i am coming back for sure. See you soon kayalpura homestay!

The food tastes good, the food is like home food.Cooked chef Renjith tastes good and hygine. The room is clean and the environment is as clean and well maintained....If you are a foodie you should go here at least once..One more time Spl thaks to Chef Renjith.

Superb place to stay for and 40 to 50 members family get together.Homely sea food is an additional escatasy..
Surely enjoy the silent ambience and baot travel arranged by the management. Frendly and readly staff is also an additional benefit.
