Panakkattodil devi temple is an ancient and famous Hindu devi temple in South Kerala, located in Chavara Thekkumbhagom in Kollam District. There is no historical evidence available for the origin of this temple. But believe it as 1000 years old.[4] Once a rover Brahmin youngster reached at Chavara Thekkumbhagom. He met a skilled carpenter called 'Koyippurathu Nambeesan Aasari'. They planned to build a temple in Chavara Thekkumbhagom. Nambeesan Aasari built base structure of the temple, then the Brahmin youngster evoke 'Bhadrakali' to this temple and adored. After that various parts of the temples had built and numerous devotees reach to the temple. Temple built in Valayaappallil Family' property. According to some records, temple build under the supervision of 'Manjippuzha Thamburan'. In 1946 (Malayalam Era or Kollavarsham 1121) temple undertaken by Travancore Government.

Very calm and quiet environment. You can sit in the sopanam relaxing or take a walk around the ground. Definitely a must-visit when coming to Thekkumbhagam. It is one of the oldest temple in the area. Come around April-May months to enjoy the festival.

One of the major temples in Kollam. Near the bank's of Ashtamudi lake. Lord Durga and Bhadra are the main idols. Very calm & soothing place for devotees.

The temple is considered as the heart and soul of the island, Thekkumbhagom.
The festival that falls around April-May is the greatest human gathering in the village.
As a result of a great fire, the temple is under construction and soon will be opened to the devotees of Thekkumbhagom.

Im very loved to this temple. Its because of in my motherland. It is situated in chavara Thekkumbhagom. Sree Durga is the main Goddess and also Sree Bhadra is prior to this temple. The rituals and customs is kindly different from other temple. It is in under the Thiruvithamkoor devaswom board. So you must watch this temple.
