The Nagchandreshwar Temple is located in Ujjain, India. It's a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is known for its association with the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas. Devotees visit this temple to seek blessings and offer their prayers to Lord Shiva. It's known for its unique architecture and the presence of a naturally formed shivling (a symbolic representation of Lord Shiva) surrounded by numerous serpents.

This is the temple which opens just for 24 hours once in a year on "Naag panchmi" this time it was on 5th august.. it was my second time to visit the temple and every time the experience is getting much better. 😊 it is to be said that any kind of Kaal sarp dosh can be removed only after the visit to this Temple as there is a story behind this temple and that is said that when Nagraj takshak worshipped Lord Shiva and blessed to be immortal forever and he wants that he is not to be disturbed frequently. Hence to fulfill his wish the temple opens once in a year and the Nagraj takshak presents there on this day to bless everyone. 😊

Nagchandreshwar Ujjain is a unique manifestation of Hindu God Shiva and this rare murti of Shiva is located on the third storey of the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. This rare murti of Shiva as Nagchandreshvar is open to darshan only on the Nagpanchami day in Shravan month. Nagchandreshwar darshan happens in a year only on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha of Shravan month. In this form Hindu God Shiva is more associated with the Nagas (Snakes) and Chandra (Moon). Thousands of devotees arrive on the day at Mahakaleshwar Temple to have darshan of Shiva as Nagchandreshwar.

The idol of Nagchandreshwar on the third storey is open for darshan only on the day of Nag Panchami. The temple has five levels, one of which is underground. The temple itself is located in a spacious courtyard surrounded by massive walls near a lake. The shikhar or the spire is adorned with sculptural finery. Brass lamps light the way to the underground sanctum. It is believed that prasada (holy offering) offered here to the deity can be re-offered unlike all other shrines.

I visited this place on 2nd August 2022 - Nagpanchami day (opens on this day only for 24 hrs). Almost more than 5 lakh people were their. I was in queque at morning 5.00 am and after 6 hrs of snail biting movement, I got darshan on Shri NagChandreshwar Swami whose temple is at top floor of Mahaleshwar Mandir. #Amazing #LifeTimeExperience with Holy chanting crowd.

Temple is located at third floor in the premises of Mahakaleshwar temple, but not in same sanctum where Lord Mahakal resides in. In first chamber of temple Lord Shiva with goddess Parvati & Lord Ganesha in Resting position on a 10 headed serpent. Inside there's Lord Shiva in form of Shivalingam.
Temple opens at midnight on Nagapanchami 12:00 AM & darshan for public start at 12:30 after Aarti. It is considered that one can get rid of any form of Sarpdosha by visiting this temple.
As per legends Snake God remains present here on this day. Temple remains too crowded to get just one glimpse of unique for of Lord Shiva.
Gates of temple closes on next Midnight & darshan for public stopped from 11:30PM.

This temple is open once in a year for 24 hour and this is to be believed that king Takshat rests here for 1 year and this is the day when he comes out and and give Darshan to all his beloved this temple opens every year in the month of Shravan on the day of shukl Paksh Panchami that is to be known as Nag Panchami people believes that any Kaal sarp dosh in their kundali will get removed if they visit this Temple. This was my fifth time to visit the temple in the last five year . I feel so blessed after every visit to this Temple. The main attraction of this Temple is the idol which is the only one at its own like this is the only idol in the whole world which has Sheshnag with Lord Shiva Parvati and Ganesha in place of Lord Vishnu.

This is real Temple where it is believed that Naag Raj Takhyak swayan here for darshan to his divotee. For one day out of 365 this temple open & Takhyak sarpa Raj appearing in front of devotees on Naag panchami. Around 10 lacs ppl had fortunate to have darshan. This temple just above the Mahakaal jyotirling..

I tv was rare sight. Once a year. Very difficult though. We stood in line for 10hours, unfortunately the doors of temple closed when we were at brink of entering. Next day (not for NC darshan) the line goes for another 2miles inside the temple. It needs true and audacious grit.
