Very intense and powerful temple.

There is a unique thing about this temple which is, devotees offer liquor to the idol. This felt very interesting and surprising.

There was very very long queue and so many people who have come to visit the temple. But line moved decently quick. Darshan took 1hr 30min.

I visited the Kaal Bhairav Temple in Ujjain at around 5pm on a weekday in the month of January. It was pretty crowded with long queues and it took me almost an hour to reach the main deity.
I was impressed by the beauty of the temple and the grandeur of the deity. The temple is a must-see for any visitor to Ujjain.
It is also believed that the darshan of Mahakal is not considered to be completed without visiting the Kaal Bhairav temple.

Famous religious place for time immovable. Lord Shiva resides here as Mahakal. One of the jyotirling situated at the centre of earth. Spacious temple and handles more than 50000 pilgrims each day. Bhasma arati is added attractions but very few will get tickets. Now the ceremony has been showed to devotees through 3d technic within is a memorable experience. Corridor developed by PM is eye catching in evening.

Visiting the Kaal Bhairav Mandir in Ujjain was a profound experience for me. This sacred Hindu temple, dedicated to the fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, holds a unique place in the heart of the historic city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

Legend has it that Lord Kaal Bhairav, the guardian of time, can provide protection and blessings to those who seek his divine intervention. What struck me as distinctive about this temple is the ritual of offering alcohol to the deity, a practice believed to appease his intense nature.

The architectural beauty of the temple, reflecting traditional North Indian style with intricate carvings, creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere. Standing in the sanctum sanctorum, before the idol of Lord Kaal Bhairav adorned with garlands and offerings, I felt a deep sense of connection and reverence.

Beyond its religious significance, the Kaal Bhairav Mandir is a cultural hub, particularly during festivals like Maha Shivaratri. The city of Ujjain, with its historical charm, adds to the overall appeal of the temple. It became evident to me that this sacred site is not just a place of worship but a living symbol of devotion, faith, and the rich spiritual heritage of India.

I visited in Shri Kal Bhairav mandir in this month of December 2023 and I can say that this is a very crowded place.

Crowded was so high that I was in the queue for at least 2 and 3 hours. If I talk about the facility that you are not going to get anything but yes went there for Aastha.

If I talked about the Mandir compound or grandeur of the temple then it is not so big and far from the city but you will get lot of eternal peace when you are their. I enjoyed it a lot and I recommend everyone to do so.

Ancient but beautiful temple. Is usually soo much crowded and more on weekends and soo much on festivals.
You need to wait in the line for atleast 20 minutes at weekdays, 1/2 hr at weekends and on occasions/ festivals it can even exceed till 1hr or 1 & 1/2 hr. Actually depends.

Har Har Mahadev 🙏

We visited Shree Kal Bhairav Mandir on 16th January 2024. It has different energy. It is located on the banks of Shipra (Kshipra) river. It's an old belief that after visiting Mahakaleshwar Mandir you have to visit Shree Kal Bhairav Mandir then only your darshan will get completed. Try to visit this temple on weekdays. Weekends will be more crowded. We got darshan in 45 minutes. Here alcohol is offered along with Pooja thali to Shree Kal Bhairav. It is 5km away from Mahakaleshwar mandir. You will get an auto from Mahakaleshwar mandir to Shree Kal Bhairav Mandir. It will cost you around 120Rs.

The temple is dedicated to Bhairava (Kaal Bhairav), a fierce form of Shiva and wears a garland of skulls and carries a club of peacock feathers. The word "Kaal" means both "death" and "time". Kaal Bhairav also means the one who removes the fear of both death and time.

The worship of Kal Bhairav was traditionally popular among the Kapalika and Aghora sects, and Ujjain was a prominent centre of these sects. Kal Bhairav is the guardian deity of Ujjain: he is considered Senapati (Commander-in-Chief or Chief General) of the town.

Kaal bhairav mandir is one of the most attractive and devine place in Ujjain, i think this is the only temple where liquer is served to the deity and there have been beliefs that the statue of Kaal Bhairav deity drinks the liquer and when the liquer is offered it goes disappered and no one knows where it goes ultimately. Ive experienced that this temple was more crowded that any other temple in the Ujjain.
This is one of the ancient temples in the Ujjain beautifully built and well maintained. I completely loved being here.

One and only bhairavdada temple located in Ujjain near Mahakaleshwar jyotirlinga temple.
Huge rush everyday for darshan.
Paid parking available, pooja samagri and harddrink shops available because all come here to arpan wine, whisky any hard drink to bhairavdada.
When we go its 6 p.m. almost six zigzag lines to cross than you can enter in gate .too much crowded. After an hour we can get in and get darshan.
Its a small temple few sec you enter and go out.
But Impotance of this temple is related to god shiv so whoever visit ujjain mahakal ,they surely visit kalbhairav temple.
Very good darshad we had.
Jay kalbhairav dada.

The Kal Bhairav temple is a Hindu temple located in the Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Kal Bhairav, the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily. Liquor is one of the offerings made to the temple deity.

Pujari of temple takes the saucer near the deity's lips, which have a slit. He tilts the plate a bit, and the liquor starts disappearing. Lot of people including Britisher tried to search for where the liquor went but it becomes the mystery for all. Then all have accepted that Kaal Bhairava himself drink it.

Kaal bhairav mandir is about 5 km away from mahakaal lok and located near ujjain jail. At the temple the queue was very long for the darshan but it is said that-"Someone who's coming to Ujjain Mahakaaleshwar has to seek blessings from the kaal bhairav first to continue the further tourism."
