A central university, situated in the beautiful Barak Valley, surrounded by lush greenery. This university has 16 different schools with 42 departments. It has mainly PG courses, although some departments offer UG courses, including the School of technology. Phd courses are also offered here. Hostel facility for both boys and girls are available on first come first serve basis. Many canteens are available that offers delicious food. Bus facility from Silchar, Karimganj and Hailakandi is available.

A Central University situated in the outskirts of Silchar town. It has 42 Departments and caters around 4000 students. The campus is very large and you need auto/bus to travel from one department to the other. It is enriched with scenic beauty of trees, ecopark, hills and lakes. It is one of the must visit location in Silchar. You can reach University from Silchar by University Bus, Auto, Traveller or City Buses. There are many canteens inside the campus to eat, although the food isn't that great.

A central University located at Cachar District of Assam. It's a beautiful University which offers many Post Graduate courses, Graduate Courses and also offers M.Phill and Ph.D. Students from across the country as well as foreigners are also studies in this University of North-Eastern part of India. At present the Assam University have around 40 departments and also have a campus at Diphu.

It is a beautiful University...... really liked the environment over there......situated on the outskirts of the city..... you can go and visit the campus....

Assam University is a collegiate central public university located at Silchar, Assam, India. It was founded in the year 1994 by the provisions of an act enacted by the Parliament of India. The Governor of Assam is the Chief Rector and the President of India is acting as the Visitor of the university. The Chancellor is the ceremonial head of the university while the executive powers rest with the Vice-chancellor. The university has sixteen schools which offer Humanities, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Technology and Management Studies. There are 42 departments under these sixteen schools. The five districts under the jurisdiction of Assam University have 73 undergraduate colleges as on 31 March 2020. Assam University is an institutional signatory to the Global Universities Network for Innovation (GUNI), Barcelona and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) for its commitment to educational social responsibilities.

The University is surrounded by small hillocks, tea garden and seasonal wetlands. Located at peaceful village environment. Good place to study and visit.

It have a very good communicative faculties and huge opportunity for professional courses as well as vocational courses where some of the affiliated colleges are situated in the heart of Silchar . It also have a good culture of respect for the State Assam as it enhances deeply & uplifts the value of Assam's indigenous people. 😊🤗
