Indian Postal Department Foreign Post Office

Best service ever, they don’t suppose to deliver as per rumours, and they took to long to deliver it but they are really appreciatable. Thank you so much Indian post department.

Read the reviews and found that basic information about this office is missing .
This is a department of Posts dealing with postal parcels from foreign countries.
As it involves imports, there are Customs officers overlooking to watch that the goods received are as per Import policy. Only goods of value and kind as per import policy are allowed free of duty.. ( Can be read on Central Board site)

All parcels are under the custody of postal department. They are produced before Customs officials , who sort out parcels, which may need Customs clearance.
Only such parcels are opened in presence of postal staff and parcels are resealed after Customs clearance and are again in custody of Postal staff.
If parcel contains items , which may attract customs duty, a notice is sent to the receiver, and parcels are recalled from postal authorities and re-examined in presence of receiver .
Then resealed and warehoused with Postal deptt.
There is no provisions in any country to send the goods back to sender. That has to be arranged by receiver .

Called them , they picked up and told me to wait for a while. Lets see, if i get my parcel on time with all relevant custom duty fee details. Im giving this office 6 stars. :)

Edit: Custom Clearance is completed, now the status is showing " Item Dispatched "

Edit : Recieved my product. Paid the custom duty right on my gate. This office deserves 6 stars.

If you haven't received your product yet, I request you to kindly cooperate with the staff and have some patience, this is not amazon.

Known issue: They do not pick calls but if you call during 3-5pm, you'll surely get lucky.

They are not that bad friends as some people has shared in their experience. In my case
1. USPS Priority International flat rate envelope: parcel from the USA to India came like a charm. The tracking Id is trackable from the moment the USPS is in possession of the item both on USPS tracking website as well as India Post tracking portal. There was a genuine custom duty charged when I received the parcel.(Total time: 20 Days)
2. Deutsch Post Brief International: Parcel from Germany to India, trackable only on Deutsche Post/DHL till the time it is in Germany, we are clueless about when it reaches India, passes Mumbai customs and Delhi customs. Tracking updates only once it reaches the head post office in your delivery area. Custom department lady told me that they do not scan these low cost parcels in their system.

Very responsive and helpful custom officers, they held my parcel, i called custom office to ask what to do now, they told me to send a email to customs officer at speedpost12345@gmail.com with details like purpose of parcel, value of parcel, proof of payment and bank statement. i emailed them proof of purchase + bank statement and they released my in 24h.

Contrary to other reviews I was pretty satisfied with the place. I went there personally to track a parcel from aliexpress. The staff there were very helpful to track my Item. Mr. Dubey and his colleague in the loader section helped me track my parcel which was already out for delivery. They made multiple calls to coordinate the delivery of my parcel at my office. Thank you gentlemen.

I am not sure why people added negative reviews but my experience was great.Staff was very supportive. They just ask for the details regarding your package. They mention you will get your package by tuesday and I received on tuesday.

It's very nice here. The staff and senior staff is very cooperative. They understand our problem provide instant solution many time as I face a problem.
And post service is also owsome. In starting they took their time as custom change the policy but now it's all ok you need not to wait to book Thier international parcel

Very nice staff and very helpful, when anyone gets parcel, have to pay customs duty it's not a bribe, custom department responsible for duty not post office.

I didn't have any update regarding my parcel to USA, called them and the lady on call gave me actual update.

Hello Dear My Tracking i have imported goods from USA my tracking number is EC574977432US. I have not any intimation from IP or Custom department . What they required from me . but my items are stucked in Customs from 17th may. Where to go there is no way

Spoke to them regarding the status of my parcel. They spoke very nicely and gave good information. For now it's 5 stars, will review later again.

So far I have received all my parcels in time through Indian Postal Services.

Neat and clean place. Officers are so helpful. Don't forget to bring your government issued ID proof before visiting this place.
