Yaganti Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, offers a profoundly peaceful and soulful experience. The serene ambiance creates an ideal environment for spiritual contemplation, and the presence of water ponds adds to the overall tranquility.

Om Namo umamaheswaraiah namah.... It's an ancient and historic Temple especially the Nandi situated here. As per Sri veera Bramham Gari kalagnanam, if Yaganti Nandi stand and move it will be sign of kaliyugam ending. For every 20 years the Nandi size will increase one inch which was Declared by Archeology Department of India. There are 2 famous pushkarinis in this Temple which was identified by Sri Aagastya mahamuni. There are 3 Famous caves named as Sri Venkateswara cave, Aagastya cave, and Belu caves. If you want to perform sparsha Darshanam to lord Uma maheswara u will take ticket cost of 75 rupees for each person. Entry ticket Rs. 10. If you want to visit this temple there are no direct bus facility. First you will reach Nandyal then you pick banagaipalle bus. Finally u want to reach Yaganti from banagaipalle choose autos is better than RTC Bus because no frequent buses. Autowala will charge Rs. 60 for a round trip between Banagaipalle to Yaganti.

The Yaganti Temple is a temple of Shiva located in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh, India 1. It was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century 1. The temple was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions 1.

One story of the site’s origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged 1.

The temple is renowned for its unique architecture and historical significance 2. It is a popular tourist destination and attracts a large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh every year 3. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its Pushkarini, a small pond of water on the temple premises. Water flows into this Pushkarini from the bottom of the hill through the mouth of a Nandi (bull) 1. Devotees find that a holy bath in Pushkarini is highly beneficial 1.

If you are planning to visit the temple, you may want to check out the reviews on Tripadvisor3. I hope this helps!

This temple is located in yaganti kurnool district between hills which literally look like carved hills. The temple houses the idol of Shiva and Parvathi fused together, called Ardhanareeswara. Yaganti is perhaps the only temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, where he is worshipped in the form of an idol, instead of Shiva Linga.

The numerous natural caves in the hills around the temple were home to several saints since ages, and have even housed the Great Telugu saint and astrologer, Potuluri Veera Brahmam Garu.

Inside the temple we will be having sparsha darshanam which will cost you around 75-100 rs.We can directly touch lord Shiva diety and offer our prayers.

There are two main pushkar which is Lil far from main temple and other is next to the main temple. The water in the pushkar which is next to the temple will be used only for diety during Abhishekam. You can find water in both the pushkar all over the year during Summers too, which is magical.

Darshan Timings : 6 AM - 1 PM & 3 PM - 8 PM

Superb location and great views of mountains beside the temple. Koneru and other areas resemble centuries old architecture and wonderful feeling. You can take 75 rupees token for sparsha darsan as well to go in to the garbhalayam. Priests were polite and will explain you the history of temple.

Do visit the lord Venkateswara swamy temple and lord Shiva's cave as well.

Limited rooms to stay here but during week days you shd be able to get one. Free food was fine and you have limited option for food outside as well.

Please see the attached pics and you will know how beautiful this location is, thanks.

Year:November 2023

Temple:

1. Ancient Hindu Temple of significant history
2. Surrounded by Rocks and Mountains with no water body near by.
3. Recently Jagan govt has introduced Tickets (10₹ per person). Sparsh darshan ticket is costly (not sure of price)
4. Growing Nandi is there. Read stories about it before visiting.
4. For now, you can carry your phone but can’t click pictures inside Garbhgriha.

Prasadam:

1. They sell laddus at ticket counter
2. Anna Prasadam was available earlier (2018 visit). Couldn’t have time time as we visited in morning. It’s next parking on the right side.

Facilities:

1. Connecting road shown in Google map to Kurnool is in very poor condition for 15-17 Km. It’s like off roading. Don’t take that route in rainy season or going on big vehicles.
2. It’s an isolated place . So, don’t expect great food or accommodation. Plan accordingly. Prefer Temple Prasadam.
3. Temple area is clean. Observed small improvement in last 5 years.
4. Multiple new roads are being built. Expect better connectivity in next 5 years.

The nearest town is Banaganapalli. Do visit the caves and learn about the history of the temple while you are here. It is very amusing. And the speciality here is the growing Nandi (bull) which is predicted to come to life and it is believed among the locals that when the stone turns to life, the world will end. It's the temple where Shiva is in the form of Uma Maheshwara. Do visit during Shivratri for the best experience possible.Oh and there's entry fee for the temple. It should be around 10 to 20 rupees.

Very good. It's not like the other temple. It has the speciality of the ground water hole. As per the local information, the water will come around all year.

One time visit.
The temple opens at 1500hrs, so plan accordingly.
It contains one main temple and 3 small temples present in the caves as shown in the photos.
The temple is good and well maintained. You can have prasad ladoo(2) at 15/-.
Adult ticket Entry: 10/- per person.
Parking is free and the toilet is for ladies only.
The caves have very steep stairs and the caves are not having that much depth. It will be around 20 feet in length inside the cave.
One more thing, once u reach here u will find a road on the hills behind the temple, so that road also leads to a temple which is around 12-15km (shop guy told).

Best place to visit. Everything is made by nature. The temple is amazing. We maintained . The three caves are named after God Shiva, God Venkatramana, and Agsya Saint who worshipped Shiva are good to see. People should claim steps to reach these caves. Another important thing is there are no crows in Yaganti. People should be careful with monkeys . The Nandi in front of Shva is amazing and growing year by year. But there is no valid proof. We should believe. However one should visit this temple at least once in a lifetime. The Kalayani is always filled with water . Overall it is worth seeing this place at least to know how nature is so friendly .

The temple is located in the spectacular view, untill we reach near the Temple hill, one would be in biblical thought are we in the right route towards the Temple. The rock garden pathway to the temple is bonus. The divinity in the temple is lit.
I was told there will be waterfall in the temple background. (I dint get to see that beauty, coz of not much rain)
There are 3 temples, the steps looks freaky n undoable but we can climb them. Peacfullness inside caves to be experienced.
Avoid visiting temple during Kartika masa.
