Huge temple with magnificent architecture which was constructed 900 years ago.
Place is maintained well and neat.
It’s a must visit for someone who likes to experience old architecture.

Temple has numerous pillars inside which only adds to the marvellous beauty of the structure.

There was 0 crowd during the weekend which added to serenity and quietness inside the temple was soothing.

Gentleman who was guarding the temple was kind to elaborate the history and showed each deities. Appreciate his interests.

This is also one of the showcase of architecture of Hoysala Dynasty. Where 3 temples are nearby , one is lakshminarayan temple hosaholalu, Brahmeshwra temple kikkeri and another is this one. Like Brahma Vishnu Maheswara are close to each other . The architecture is more similar to Belur and Halebidu.

temple renowned for its unique Hoysala architecture, which cannot be found anywhere else. There is a person named Rangappa who will guide you in and out.

There is no entry fee to visit this tranquil temple, making it a perfect place to spend a peaceful evening. However, it is disheartening to note that some of the sculptures are missing. It is high time for the authorities to wake up and take necessary measures to protect these invaluable cultural heritage sites.

Astonishing Temple with such a rich history, I was amazed to see how the temple is built with such elegant and detailed sculptures. There was a guide who helped us understand the past and the significance of the Temple. The temple has 5 Shivling with each having its own Nandi Maharaj's. It's really a marvel to experience such history. The temple is really maintained well and neat with a lovely garden surrounding it's premises.

A beautiful Hoysala era temple with the unique feature of having 5 Shivalingam in the temple. The temple caretaker can explain you some point about the interiors. It’s located opposite a big lake away from any town or village amidst farmland. There are no tickets and you will rarely find people and even more rarely any vehicles, didn’t find any shops or public transport to the place directly, own vehicle should be preferred and can be parked outside the compound gate on the road. The interiors are dimly lit but the place was still kept well maintained.

Around 4 kilometres from Kikkeri temple town. According to the guide, this is the last Hoysala temple to be built.
This temple complex has 5 temples adjacent to each other connected with one single hall.
Though from the front, it looks like 2 adjoining temples, at the rear, you can see 5 different gopuras which are connected to each other in a row.

Among all the Hoysala temples , Govindanahalli’s Panchalinga Temple in Mandya District, is very UNIQUE because it has FIVE sanctums , all of which are in a long line , opening into a common pillared hall and all facing east . The hall has two porched entrances . The outer walls have small and not too many sculptures , in addition to aedicules and a few pierced ( jaali) windows all making for a very neat appearance . The temple was built in the 13th Century, during Veera Someshwara’s reign . The protected monument is maintained well , and there was a recent round of renovation too .

This temple was constructed around 1238 A.D. during the reign of the Hoysala empire King Vira Someshwara. The name "Panchalingeshwara" literally means "five linga". Panchalingeshwara temple is a rare example of a panchakuta (lit, five shrines with five towers) construction in Hoysala architecture. In each shrine, the sanctum (garbhagriha) is connected to a hall (mantapa or navaranga) by a vestibule with sukanasi above. A long pillared hall on the east connects the individual mantapa together. The entrance to the temple complex is via two porched entrances whose ceiling are supported by lathe turned pillars. The decoration (articulation) on the outer walls of the shrines (vimana) is modest and comprises miniature decorative towers (aedicula) on pilasters.
The official posted in the monument is good guide. He know all the details about the temple. He was a great help. All the information was given accurately without asking.

'Five Lingas', this temple was built in the 13th century during the reign of Hoysala king Vira Someshwara. A fine example of the uncommon panchakuta, the temple complex consists of five shrines and five towers with all the garbha grihas (sanctum sanctorum) facing east.

The inner complex is replete with elaborate pillars and each sanctum is preceded by a vestibule (sukanasi). The temple having a quintuple plan, has two entry doorways opposite the second and the third garbha griha.

The main deity is Lord Shiva, in the form of a linga, and they have been named Ishanyeshwara, Tatpurusheshwara, Aghoreshwara, Vamadeveshwara and Sadyojateshwara. There is a statue of the holy bull (Nandi) in front of each shrine and each one is uniquely carved.

The outer walls depict through intricate carvings scenes from the Dashavatara, an intrigue as the main deity here is Lord Shiva. The famous Hoysala sculptor, Ruvari Mallitamma is said to have made significant contributions to this temple including carving the two elaborate Dvarapalas.
