One of the seven wonders of India!

This is a historic and sacred place devoted to one of the Jain god Lord Gomateshwara. I have been visiting this place since I was a kid and have been here for quite a lot. I know a lot about this place.

There are plenty of accommodations and food options available nearby. You can get here by road or trains. Nearest airports are in Bengaluru or Mysuru.

This place is open from 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM (timings may change during special events).

Shravanabelagola is a beautiful ancient Temple town. It is located veey near to Mysore the another ancient city with King's palace.
Gomateswara Statue is located on a hillock with 700 steps from the base village.
It is advisable to climb the hillock in the morning time before 10.00 am or in the evening after 3.30 pm. It is advisable to avoid During hot summer and the heavy rain season of southwest monsoon.
Bringing water is must, water available in the top, but while climbing one must need water to beat dehydration. One must carry a shoulder bag to put necessary belongings, so it will be easy to climb.
A small temple is next to this hillock. So plan accordingly to visit this place.

🌟 Visited Shravanabelagola for its awe-inspiring Jain pilgrimage! 🕉 The 18m high Lord Gomateshwara statue is breathtaking, carved from granite in 981 AD! ⛰ Climbing 700 steps to Vindhyagiri hills was a spiritual journey. 🙏 Chandragiri hills boast 14 Jain Temples. A must-visit for history buffs! 🕌

Jain temple with statue of Bahubali. Approx 800 steps and will take approx 20mins to climb to the top. Footwear needs to be removed as it's temple premises so it's advisable to reach early while the sun is yet to heat the rock. There is a stall to keep your footwear at nominal cost. Parking is on a chargeable basis.
