Surya Mandir Gwalior

This🛕 Temple is one of d most spectacular shrines as well as an architectural🏛 wonder that adorns d city😍. It was constructed⚒ in 1988 by d famous 👉🏻industrialist G.D. Birla. Built ⚒on d lines of legendary Sun Temple at Konark🛕, Orissa, this one is a magnificent amalgam 🤩of exquisite architecture in red sandstone 🧱and pearly white marble. As you encounter 🤔d outer edifice, d red sandstone exterior of Sun Temple 🛕built in d manner of gradual slots that reach up to d peak of the facade. A splendid 👉🏻idol of d Sun Lord is enshrined in d temple🛕. Although not constructed long ago😱, it is among d most revered shrines in d ancient city attracting tourists😇& devotees from all over the country 🗾. Surrounding area is well maintained by d staff 🧹🗑. Beautiful🌼🌺 flowering plant 🌵 & tree 🌴 r planted. If ur r lucky😉, then u can hv a glimpse of peacock there 🦚

It was so beautiful, the environment is so peaceful here, I visited it with my family, they all like it, specially my mother liked it so much ,the nature's vibe was so good, I was gone in the afternoon but I surely want to visit it again in the evening time.

The only temple which has Lord Sun statue, Absolutely stunning! the sun god inside the temple is also absolutely breathtaking, We do get positive vibes by looking at the lord Sun.
The whole place is extremely well maintained, no entry ticket here and ample parking space is available.

You may not find any other review with Lord Sun statue.

You are not allowed to sit in the temple campus but there is a small canteen just near to entrance.

The newly constructed Sun Temple takes its inspiration from the famous Konark Sun, it took 4 years 4 days to complete its construction when finally on 23rd January 1988, the temple saw its completion. The temple is one of the architectural wonders and has a beautiful sculpture of Lord Surya in the temple premises. The temple building is created in the shape of chariot pulled by seven horses each one depicting seven days of the week. One can also see total 24 wheels representing the 24 hours of a day. There are total 365 idols of Gods around the temple for 365 days in a year.

Very clean premises almost scenic beauty. This is replica of sun temple in Konark. Mobile is not allowed inside.
There are counters available for depositing your belonging near main gate. Wash rooms are clean. Drinking water available. All the facilities are available near main gate.
There is large open land available outside the temple where you can park your vehicle without any charges.

No Entry fee. Beautiful architecture of sun temple. Good Atmosphere. Must visit this place with family and friends. Parking is free.

I am a visited Gwalior in January 2014. The Sun temple is one of the good places of attraction for tourists. This temple is sculpted in a very wonderful way. The Sun rays during dawn directly reaches to the idol of Lord Sun which is kept at the centre of the temple. I have posted few pictures of the temple, hope you like them. Recommended place

Beautiful place, very peaceful. You will find parrots and peacock chirping there. Surya bhagwan statue is one of the most beautiful things in the premises. One cannot compare it with Sun temple in Orrisa though.

Nice calm quiet place. Surya dev temple. Photography of deity is not allowed. Slightly away from main city but can be visited easily. No entry fees.

A grand temple of Bhagwan Vivaswan (Surya Narayan) built by Seth Ghanshyam Das Birla. Nice and clean place, open upto 1830 hrs. Beautiful sculpture on outer walls. No photography of Idols inside temple. Peacocks can be seen in garden.

Foundation of the temple was laid in Jan 1984 & completed in Jan 1988. Height of the temple is 76 feet. Overall there are 373 statues.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Sun "Suryadev". It consists more than 300 statute, and every statute full of detailing. One of the best symbol of great Art and Engineering in a Hindu temple. A special arrangements of tunnels and mirror is made here, which direct the sun light on the Statute of Suryadev in the temple.
