Krishnagiri Fort

Very nice tracking place for trackers.
If you are going with family and kids, be careful as it's a difficult track. Half the way having stairs and then a completely rocky way. The top view is very nice.
If you want to see only a fort, then please avoid it as there is no fort building, only 3-4 broken walls are there for the name of the fort.

Good trekking place. More than 700 steps needs to climb to reach the top. The view of the Krishnagiri town is excellent from the top. No proper steps near to the top of the hill. Be careful while climbing through the rocks. Vehicles needs to be parked near to the lake and walk through the village road to the top.

Great place for a short weekend gateway... Hardly 60 km drive... Trekking through rocks... Steep steps... Advised not to take kids.
Should have 1 bottle water per person, some glucose and light food. Almost 300+ steps... Took 1.5 hours to climb and 30 minutes to get down. Fully exhausted. On top enjoy scenic beauty and entire city view.

I was Familiar with the Fort from my Younger days. Of 1985.. !
Now the area has developed and the Serenity is effected.

This is a fort of the Lion of Mysore, Tippu Sultan. The trek to the top was little difficult as trail was steep and at some point there were no steps at all.

Atop, there is a dargah and few abandoned and dilapidated fortress, cannon points. The view from the top was fantastic. It is advisable to trek early in the morning rather than doing it in the hot afternoons. Carry enough water and do it in groups.

Local are very helpful in visiting the place. we befriended one of the local and he took us to lot of places, which is considered worth visiting.

Very good place for tracking. Advised only to go in cloudy season as it is very hot when sunny. Also bring your water bottle as there is no availability of drinking water up on the fort. There is one small temple and a majar on the top ( in fort). There is no any shade and no big trees also for shade. It is bare hill top.

Maintained but needs more funds ! Had a good day out.

Difficult but great experience

A beautiful place for lite trekking. The view from the top is amazing. Its filled with rocks on the top. Beware of snakes. There are small caves and you may find water inside it. Make sure the water is not contaminated. A nice place to chill out and some photography.

A fortress without being taken care and a fortress worth knowing is KRISHNAGIRI FORT. It will take you around 1 hour to climb the stiff hilly Rocky mountain. It's worth climbing. You will see a very good view of the city from the top. Keep water bottle ready as no drinkable water source is availlable on top. Have a nice trekking....

Best place to visit in the early morning. It has lots of history in it.

You could park your car near the peepal tree which will be the first thing that you will see when you reach the starting point of the trek. In fact you could park anywhere near the trek starting point, completely safe. People living there are very nice and humble, do not hesitate to ask for any help. The area is a mix of Hindu and Muslim population, a Mazar next to a beautiful temple. Please carry water, do not take kids below 6 years of age, definitely not small kids. The trek is okay for adults but slightly dangerous for kids and elderly people with irregularly placed slippery rocks. Please take rest after every 10 minutes, drink water, keep some chocolates for energy and do not hurry to reach the top. You could see an old fort with stamps of Wadiyars, Tipu Sultan, Hyder Ali, Krishnadeva Rai and Britishers. I could see majority of people giving up and turning back, but, you will feel a different kind of confidence and accomplishment once you have completed the trek. Our 6 year old completed the trek without any help ( he is not a fast-food munching and mobile friendly kid). We were completely exhausted. But loved every part of this trek. Took one complete hour to reach the top, 30 minutes down and spent one complete hour at the hill-top.

Great views of the whole town, the weather in early November was perfect. Lot of dragon flies, butterflies. I also spotted a couple of owls on the way. I heard lot of families plan a half day trip as there a few places like the Durga which also gives it it's other name of Syed Basha Malai

Yeh, it's beautiful place in banglore Chennai Highway.. I Just stopped to have a break ..but I saw hills around.. I thought it's small , climbable .but very hard it took me 45 min reach top, one man asked me to carry a water bottle ... thanks for that.. please do carry a water bottle..have a break between ,walk slowly , Dont rush it will helpful.at the top it's fabulous view..we forget all the tough we face while climbing.. it's so beautiful ❤ we see whole Krishnagiri town... Just beautiful..we see nearby hills, lake's , residence building, temple s and masjid around.. have a visit once..it will be memorable...

It was osm place I have visited . actually I seen there lot of ancient salpchers. There also a islamic temple . It's place to make good trucking

Over the mountain we can see the Krishnagiri fort. Also it's a very good trekking place to go with your friends. Also couple of temples there. Nice place to spend weekend.

Moderate hike. Easy to hike alone. Wonderful view and beautiful history.

Good place for trekking do visit the cave on top of the mountain it's water dropping inside

A good physical activity assured for climbing up and then down. Mostly provided with the rock steps. Could climb up in about 30 minutes and same time while climbing down too..

What a amazing place for a sunrise 🌄.. so much refreshing and spectacular views.
