Tulsi Udyan is a garden dedicated to Goswami Tulsidas Ji. Located on the national highway of Faizabad the garden was previously known as Victoria Park and had an idol of Queen Victoria at the centre. It was later in 1960 when it was renamed Tulsi Udyan and an idol of Goswami Tulsidas ji was installed.

Tulsi Udyan: Where Nature and Spirituality Converge

Nestled in the heart of Ayodhya, a city steeped in cultural and historical significance, lies the serene and enchanting Tulsi Udyan. This lush garden, spanning acres of land, is a delightful amalgamation of natural beauty and spiritual tranquility. As one steps foot into this haven, a sense of calmness envelopes the soul, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The garden takes its name from the renowned poet-saint Tulsidas, who composed the epic poem "Ramcharitmanas" and played an instrumental role in shaping the spiritual ethos of the region. Tulsi Udyan pays homage to his legacy by creating an ambiance that fosters contemplation and reflection.

A myriad of vibrant flora greets visitors at every turn, showcasing nature's splendor in all its forms. The carefully curated layout of the garden transports visitors through a visual journey that changes with the seasons. From the vibrant hues of spring blooms to the muted earth tones of autumn foliage, Tulsi Udyan is a living canvas that captivates the eye and uplifts the spirit.

Amidst the foliage lie several thoughtfully designed pathways that lead to various pockets of serenity. The Lotus Pond, adorned with water lilies and gracefully gliding koi fish, offers a space for introspection and meditation. The fragrance garden, a delight for the senses, is a symphony of scents that transport visitors to a realm of sensory pleasure. These nooks within the garden provide opportunities to reconnect with nature and find solace in its simplicity.

At the heart of Tulsi Udyan stands the Tulsi Temple, an architectural marvel that serves as a center of devotion and reverence. The temple's design reflects a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary elements, creating an aura of timelessness. Devotees and tourists alike gather here to offer their prayers, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.

Tulsi Udyan's charm is not limited to its visual and spiritual aspects; it also caters to the recreational needs of its visitors. Families can be seen enjoying leisurely picnics on its well-maintained lawns, while children revel in the excitement of the play area. The garden's amphitheater hosts cultural events and performances, infusing the space with music, dance, and the arts.

The maintenance and upkeep of Tulsi Udyan deserve commendation. The horticultural team's dedication is evident in the garden's pristine condition. Clean pathways, well-manicured lawns, and a harmonious coexistence with nature showcase the meticulous efforts put into maintaining this sanctuary.

In conclusion, Tulsi Udyan is a gem in Ayodhya's crown, a place where the essence of nature intertwines with the tapestry of spirituality. Its ability to evoke a sense of peace and wonder in its visitors is a testament to its significance. Whether one seeks solitude, cultural enrichment, or a connection with the divine, Tulsi Udyan offers an experience that lingers in the heart and mind long after the visit. It serves as a reminder that amidst the challenges of modern life, places like these provide a sanctuary for the soul to find solace and rejuvenation.

TULSI UDYAN

Tulsi Udyan, as the name suggests, is a garden park. It was set up as a memorial to a great saint poet Tulsi Das, the devotee and the creator of the Epic Ramcharit Manas, also popularly called Ramayana. The statue of Tulsi Das has also been installed under a beautifully carved canopy in the garden.

The garden is situated near the Adyodhya Bus Stand on the National Highway passing through Faizabad, a part of the Ayodhya region. The earlier name of the garden was Victoria Park, after the name of Queen Victoria of England. It also had her statue. The park got its present name, Tulsi Udyan, in 1960. The garden is currently under the management of the Udyan Vibhag, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
