The temple was built in 1762. It's called as 'Dholia' because of the big size of Ganesh statue. It is 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide.It is situated on the banks of the Krishna River at Wai.

One of holy places of Hindu traditions as well as equally important in historical manner, the temple situated on the beautiful river bank of river krishna. Place needs a little bit of better management and development. You can feel the ancientness and amazing skill of mediaeval architecture with pure bliss of holyness in Kashi vishwanath temple of vai as well as the beautiful ganapati temple.

My visit to Mahaganpati Temple in Wai was spiritually uplifting. The temple’s architecture and serene surroundings amidst the Sahyadri mountains create a tranquil atmosphere. Inside, I felt a deep sense of devotion in the presence of Lord Ganesha.

The temple rituals were soothing, and the priests added to the spiritual experience. What makes this place even more special is the stunning backdrop of the Western Ghats, offering breathtaking views.

Mahaganpati Temple is a must-visit for those seeking a blend of spirituality and natural beauty. It left me with a sense of peace and reverence that lingers in my heart.”

This temple is a nice piece of architecture. The ganpati idol is huge one. It feels like the ganpati is happy to see you there. It feels like as you enter the gabhara that he is inviting you to come inside and play with him. It has a very childlike charm to it. I just can’t describe what it was like but surely it has a totally different aura that doesn’t seize to amaze you. There was ghat just beside the temple. As it was raining heavily we could not roam around much. Parking lot is just in the front of the temple.

What a place wow situated near krishna river, called Dakshin kashi of India. Ganpati bappa murti is so good that you will be very pleased after seeing it. Mahadev temple is also there with an ancient nandi. Very good place to visit with your family highly recommended. Parking place is present. Washroom facility is also present but it is before the parking bridge. Must visit before you visit to Mahabaleshwar.
