Lucknow Police Bhawan is great place to visit, Police Bhawan is the official workplace of the Uttar Pradesh Police Department one can view it from out only as entry restricted due to security reasons.

Fast forward to entering the gates. WOW. The place is so beautiful and well maintained. Everything about the place is amazing.

I visited at this place many time and its look like very high take building. it has 4 towers and 1 helipad also. the security of this building is very high take without id cards anyone not entered in this building.there are 2 parking B1 & B2 and it had so huge parking area. it has total 9 floor in this building.

The State Government has decided to bring the various branches of police at one place for the purpose of proper/effective control of crime scenario and to strengthen the law and order of the state.
The government has sanctioned the construction of a multi storey police building in Lucknow, through which the exchange of information will be fastened among various branches of the police. This new police building “The Signature Building” is being constructed in sector-7, Gomti Nagar extension scheme.

This is one of the most iconic building in India specially as a Police Headquarter. The building is designed by Stup Consultants Pvt. Ltd. and constructed by LnT. The building was inaugurated by UP CM Yogi Adityanath Ji. The building has all the modern facilities inluding rooftop Helipad.

One of the finest and well designed building in lucknow. This is the police headquarters of uttar pradesh designed in the period of former cm akhilesh yadav. This is the one stop solution and has all the wings of police in this centralised building.

Posting, transfer and other administering job are controlled from this place. Location is very prime and near to International Cricket Stadium. It has very scenic view from the Shaheed path.

The present police system was created following the recommendation of the Police Commission headed by H.M. Court in 1860 and was enacted as Police Act of 1861. H.M. Court became the first inspector general of police of the then North West Province and Avadh which comprised the territory of the present state of Uttar Pradesh.

Since then many amendments in the Police Act of 1861 have happened which has shaped the current institution and structure of police in the state.A Director General of Police (DGP) heads the state police. He is assisted by many police officers. State police headquarters is situated in Lucknow.

For the purpose of maintaining law and order in the state, the state of Uttar Pradesh is divided into 8 police zones. Each zone is headed by an officer of the rank of additional director general of police who is an officer of the Indian police Service. Each police zone is constituted by 2 to 3 police ranges.There are a total of 18 police ranges in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Each range is headed by an officer of the rank of either inspector general of police or deputy inspector general of police which corresponds with the administrative division. Each police range is constituted by around 2 to 4 districts.

There are a total of 74 police districts in the state. In each district (except Lucknow (city), Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur Nagar and Varanasi), the head of the police is the SP or SSP. In the discharge of his duties he is assisted by Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (Deputy SP) or Assistant Superintendent of Police who may either be the officers of the Provincial Police Service or Indian Police Service. The number of SPs and Deputy SPs varies with the size, population, police work, or nature of police work in different districts. The number of SPs and Dy.SPs in districts like Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Allahabad is considerably more than other districts. Whereas in smaller districts like Baghpat, Kannauj, Mahoba, Chandauli the number of the PPS officers is relatively lesser.

This place is currently the DGP Uttar Pradesh Police headquarters as the police headquarters at Prayagraj has not been shifted to this building yet. Construction is really great. The design is very beautiful. This is the office of the Police chief of Uttar Pradesh (DGP U.P.). He/She is assisted by a number of ADGs, IGs, DIGs, SSPs, SPs, Dy.SP/ASPs in the hierarchy of Gazetted officials and by a number of upper and lower subordinates and constabulary in the hierarchy of non-gazetted officials. This not not really meant for registering an FIR and all that stuff. One may contact the district chief of his/her district for that matter who may be a SSP or SP. If your enquiry is not worked on there also, one can approach DIG or IG range and even ADG zone. This headquarter is meant for crime analysis, control room of Uttar Pradesh, ADG of various bureaus etc.

This Building is being constructed by L&T and will be headquarters of UP Police. It is a green building and was designed by STUP.
