I love their Biryani and the man behind the counter (seemed like owner probably) was super sweet and courteous. He even offered us an extra boti because there were three of us. Love the whole vibe.
They are really welcoming and sweet.

There's lack of seating and its always super crowded.

Its a old small place in busy crowdy area . We had mutton stew with rumali roti and biryani. Subtle flavors , well cooked mutton and service is too good.

Although they don't have proper indoor seating and it's kitchen is literally out in the open their mutton biryani is even better than tunday kebab. It's very light and tasty. Price is really cheap too.

It's most probably the best Awadhi style biriyani I ever had . The owner was very courteous. But they have been fantastically taking care of this femous place for the last 75 years and so. Must try if you are at lucknow.

Tiny place, forget about sitting, even no room to stand, many people eating outside standing; arrived at lunch time, saw the situation and decided to order take out. Service was prompt and courteous, though ordering near two burning was stove was terrible. Brought mutton Biriyani back to my hotel and ate it, quality was great, they put lots of meat and rice in a small packet, I don’t know how.
If I’m ever back to Lucknow, will definitely try again. Very humble people with great food 👍👍👍

A heritage restaurant, preserving classical Lucknow food culture. One who wishes to experience Lucknow, must experience Idrees. The taste is impeccable, no complaints. It is not made to handle a lot of Dine-in customers though, and it is not a comfortable space, so I got take-out.
Not a ton of space for parking a car, recommend a two-wheeler or a taxi.
Service is quick but you must reach before 12:30 pm for prime time to order.
One full plate biryani is ₹340, half is ₹170 and payment is cash only. I 100% recommend it!

Absolutely loved the biryani at this joint! The mutton was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth. The rice was perfectly infused with spices, and the aroma was simply heavenly. While the dining area is small with minimal ventilation, we opted for takeout to enjoy the flavors in comfort at home.

Biriyani is good but the area…… you can find anything except hygiene…

If you want to try biriyani from Idrish then I will suggest you to buy it from there and have it in your hotel room or any other place.

Awsm taste of mutton biryani. Love the atmosphere because old is gold. But the only thing is the parking no space for parking. Love you idrees bhai you are serving the actual mutton pulao.

Who doesn’t love biryani? I am hardcore biryani fan but this biryani is sheer love. Aromatic, yet simple flavours speaks all about why this place is so famous. Not for people with hygiene issues. Only for people who loves food.

Half plate mutton biryani costs you around 150rs.
Do try mutton stu (150rs. For half plate) and rumali roti (6rs per piece)
The Google might show it's opening time as 4p.m. but that's not right . It opens around 12 p.m. .
There isn't any lavish space to sit . You might even have to wait for 30 mins for the seat . And many even have to stand and eat .
P.S. really not a place to take your girl there .
They are not on swiggy or zomato.
You cannot order online.
And make sure you carry cash as they only accept cash , no upi or cards are accepted here .

One of the best biryanis of Lucknow. This place is understandably crowded during rush hour. Quantity and price go hands in hands.

We had biryani at the restaurant only, however if you are not comfortable with the overall ambiance and the set up, parcel the food and then enjoy at your house or hotel. We also parceled a few packs for later as well. One can have biriyani inside their car near to the restaurant also.

I had one of the best mutton biryani of my life, the mutton were property cooked and a nice aroma was coming from the biryani, definitely i will recommend this place. The sitting area is quiet old just like the 20th centuries hotel with very less seating space.

The taste was exceptional, with the mutton pieces so tender that they practically melted in my mouth. If you're a fan of biryani, this is a must-try!

My favourite biryani place. Must try if you want to have authentic lucknowi biryani. The ambiance and even the paint has not been changed since it opened decades ago. But the biryani is impeccable. Very tender mutton and the rice in itself is a delight.

Idrees Biryani is one of the best biryani available in the whole of India. The aroma of the Biryani is unmatched. Idrees is what you can call a proper Biryani Dhaba. The biryani is cooked in an authentic style on coal. The eatery serves other delicacies too but Biryani is the undisputed king here. The seating is limited and the arrangement is humble. There are those who find their place in the cramped seating ,those who relish it in the comfort of their vehicles and those who come for takeaway. One thread is common here - the patrons of this place don't have their biryani anywhere else !!!

The Biryani here is prepared in dum style with rice cooked in mutton broth. The flavours of the biryani were subtle with just a hint of kewda, the meat was tender and well done and the rice we're good quality long basmati. The quantity for Rs 120 half plate was adequate for a single person. Unlike other biryani establishments , rice here was not overtly oily and this won the day for me.

The place was started by Muhammad Idrees around 4 decades back and the location has always been the same at Pata Nala near Chowk Kotwali. The biryani is kept piping hot over coal fire and served fresh. Amongst the 3 top biryani players of Lucknow - Idrees is the best followed by Wahid and Lalla Biryani

I ate biryani at many places in lucknow e.g. Sakhawat, Tunday, Mubeens, etc. and none can beat this place, this is the BEST PLACE to have biryani in lucknow. Though you won't get the best place to sit however if you are a foodie I don't think you'll mind sitting anywhere also you can always pack your biryani and eat it at your place.
Note- The utmost taste come when you combine it with the gravy(of mutton korma) that is served with it.

The Best Biryani not only of Lucknow but whole of North India. Taste is so subtle and delicious. Isn't heavy on the digestion. Had Mutton Biryani with Tari and the taste of Biryani was enhanced manyfold with the addition of Tari. Alhamdulillah 👌👌👌

Amazing taste and aroma . You will just love its unique awadhi style taste .
They serve biryani with ‘tari’ or gravy instead of raita (curd) which makes it super tasty.
They make limited ‘Degs’ of biryani so it will be better if you go between 3- 7pm.
