Very nice institute for research. Scintific and technical staffs are supporting and cooperative. Location is very good and nice. Labs are well equipped. A must visit ganga aquarium is located inside the campus.

This institute comes under the administrative control of ICAR, New Delhi. It undertakes research work on many aspects. Such as Collection and cataloguing of fish Genetic resources of our country, exotic fish monitoring and management, fish disease diagnostic and management, fish cell line development and distribution etc... It also provides training to fish farmers. A must visit Ganga Aquarium situated inside the Campus. 😊😊😊✌

It is good research centre for fisheries. They also exhibit different types of fish in fish aquarium. They also provide fishes for different dishes of fish on van at different places.

An ISO 9001:2008 certified organization and has been awarded with Sardar Patel Best Institute Award for the year 2011 by the ICAR, New Delhi. The Institute has also established GANGA Aquarium one of the largest and magnificent public aquariums in the country. The Institute also undertakes capacity development programmes for various stakeholders including researchers, fish farmers, state fisheries development officials and students.

There are research work is done on fishes like exotic and indigenous fishes to control their diseases and to maintain their sustainability and provide them control environment to produce and also to collect fish seed and fishes are kept as live genetic resources.

It collects, catalouges and cllassifieds the fish diversity of india and germplasm conservation of threatend fish species. It provides training to the fish farmers and fish seed on minimum rates.
