The place is Well maintained, way till the Dam is Not Properly Laid
Although its Summer Season it is Very Cold and Humid
Must place to visit In Ooty than other Boring Places
The Place is Under TNEB Control So want to get Permission and Visit the place

This place was long in my list to visit and we visited it finally. Silent and peaceful village which is just 10-15kms from Gudallur-Ooty main road. This dam and reservoir is near to famous Glen Morgan Tea estate. Road is in perfect condition, less crowded and scenic places etc are the attractions of this place. Tourists can travel upto the Police checkpost which is 2 kms from the Glen Morgan dam.

Glenmorgan is a village located at a distance of 25 kilometers from Ooty. This place is known for its tea estates which includes one of the oldest tea estates in the region
One of the attractions here is a 3-kilometre rope way from a power house in Singara to Glenmorgan.The ropeway has an inclination of nearly 40° for 300 metres near a stretch called the German Point making the ascent and descent through it difficult.
For the purpose of accommodating Electricity Board officials and tourists, rest houses are available at both ends of the ropeway.

This place is exact poster pic location... Not many ppl around here.... Really secluded as it isn't crowded by the ooty touring groups... Very calm n serene place... I'm glad that I got to see this place at least once in life time

This place is deep inside on the outskirts of Ooty towards gudalur road after 9mile , You can see the reservoir from the roadside and experience the beauty of it and also the breath-taking views of the valley and the tea plantations.

First things first, it's closed permanently for tourists. It's about ten km from the ooty mysore road. Signage is clear but no where do they mention that it's closed. Usual governmental apathy. There is one security guard near the entrance, that is after you have traveled 9km who stops you and also has a board to support him. If you think of have been told that this is a picnic or tourist spot, IT IS NOT. Now having ranted about it, the fact of the matter is that nine km ride is awesome. Clean well laid road, extraordinary scenes on both sides, almost negligible traffic, fab weather. Nothing to eat or drink so only if you are a biker at heart you'll love the ride. I'd urge bikers to make the trip. Cars, I'm not so sure. My spatial abilities are below par but I'd not recommend that you make the trip in a car definitely not on a big car.

Calm beautiful place

Absolute beauty!!!!!!!! Secluded and serene! Hardly any tourists so can have a peaceful time all by yourselves. Be safe though, there are a lot of monkeys, don’t bother them and they won’t bother you, but keep your cars locked.

Drive to glen Morgan was good, many cine shootings were going on. Many viewpoints are there on the way. Please note you cannot go to the actual place there is police checklist who will stop you. Get proper approval from Eb or any authorities and enter. Even if you cannot go into the village you can got till the reservoir which was a breathless sight.

Glenmorgan is a best scenic spot in Ooty which is fully surrounded by tea plantations. Glenmorgan tea estate is one of the renowned tea estates in Ooty. This place is an ideal place for a picnic. If you want to spend some time with nature without any hassles this then is the perfect place.
