⚠ Warning:
-Tickets need to be booked in advance from the government website only as you might get highly overcharged by 3rd party agents - https://fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in/
-Buying tickets does not guarantee that you will see a leopard so manage your expectations accordingly
-However, the place does boast a very high leopard spotting chance as compared to any other reserved forests in Jaipur's vicinity

Perfect mix of Nature's lap just minutes away from a bustling city.

I did catch a small glimpse of it but not enough to get pictures. Safari drivers tell me that summers are easier since you can spot them near water sources.

Species I did encounter were the Eurasian Sparrow Hawk and the Pallid Scops Owl which were a first for me.

I was absolutely astonished to discover that right in the heart of Jaipur City, there exists a leopard safari. The convenience of booking everything online without a hitch was truly impressive. The team behind this venture made exceptional arrangements. In fact, we had the privilege of spotting leopards on more than five occasions during our safari. Special kudos to Rohit Ji, our safari driver, who displayed exceptional skill and knowledge. Our family had an incredible and unforgettable experience thanks to this extraordinary adventure.

Beautiful landscape! Bold leopards...
It is Unimaginable that the park has so many Leopards and all of them are surviving with a very small density of bigger prey species!
Loved it..

So after a long time since Ranthambore, the big cats of India did not disappoint us. After a gap of nearly 9 years and countless trips to Jim Corbett, thr Jhalana Leopard Safari came to fruition when the majestic leopard Rana and his partner Chanda graced us with their presence. And short stroll, a make belief mating attempt and a big growl - was enough to entertain the visitors.

Important update:

Book this safari via the official Rajasthan wildlife gov website. There are many private websites claiming as official and charging 5x times the original fee. (Gov.in website)

https://fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in/

One of a kind jungle that is surrounded by the buzzing pink city - Jaipur.

They take you via the Jeep and the drivers are really passionate in animal spotting even though they have been doing it for many years. Attached pic shows the leopard we saw on a watch tower just few mins from entrance.

Best time: Evening safaris

It gets a bit cold in the open jeep so a jacket is advisable.

Go at least one hour before the actual time with the ticket printed out and photo ID. They are punctual and strict.

The mini museum outside gives you a lot of info on the area and leopards.

Awesome forest getaway in the middle of the city. Great visit for in between seasons. Sightings are bonuses, just being in the reserve is the team treat.

Worth the visit, especially in the rainy season when you’re surrounded by lush green forest and leopards are almost always sighted.
Just make sure to cover yourself completely, hands and feet too with socks and shoes as there are a lot of insects/mosquitoes and the bites can lead to severe allergies!!

Jhalana Leopard Safari reminded me of the Mumbai Aarey colony. This Reserve too is in the centre of the city where the wild cats leave the jungle in search of food in the city, street dogs are their meal.
We booked the safari from the Oberoi Rajvilas Jaipur and it was a very easy process as our identity details were shared by the hotel and the jeep arrived on time for pick up.
There was no wait and we entered the park smoothly.
Soon as we entered the harsh summer heat just vanished with the cool breeze from the forest inviting us.
We missed an opportunity to see our first leopard (flora) who just passed us as we all looked in different directions 😁 lesson learnt.
Next was Rana the show off of the reserve as all guides name him. He watched, counted the jeeps and then decided to do the catwalk and then the leap, what a show.
As all other jeeps decided to follow Rana we took another way to look out for other animals but luck favoured us and we met Rani (2 1/5 years old) shy and yet curiously watching us as we kept looking at her in excitement as we were the only jeep to see her.
We did not want to disturb her much and went on, saw a jungle hare, spotted deer, neelgai, birds and monkeys.
It was such a beautiful experience.
(My pictures don't do justice to the place as i was holding my kids so please excuse me)

Jhalana Leopard Safari offers an extraordinary wildlife experience within the city limits of Jaipur. The juxtaposition of untamed nature against the backdrop of urban life creates a unique and mesmerizing setting. As you embark on the safari, the thrill of encountering leopards in their natural habitat is akin to stepping into a scene from a Hollywood movie. The landscape unfolds like a captivating story, with rugged terrain and dense vegetation providing the perfect camouflage for these elusive big cats. The safari not only showcases the majestic leopards but also offers a glimpse into the diverse ecosystem they inhabit, including various bird species and other wildlife. It's a surreal escape into the wild, seamlessly blending the wilderness with the urban sprawl, making Jhalana Leopard Safari a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a thrilling adventure within the heart of Jaipur.

Amazing and a scenic safari in forest. Hard and luck to find Leopard, but the Gypsy ride of almost 2 hours, it worth it, to enjoy the views of forest, specially in rainy season.

Beautiful forest, Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is only leopard conservation reserve in the country. Well maintained by the forest department. Guides are very humble. The park is home to a large population of leopards.

We did three safaries and were lucky enough to spot a leopard sitting uphill. Apart from leopard we saw lots of nilgai, peacocks, northern langur, dear, Spotted owlet, francolin, Rose-ringed parakeet etc. Instagram : manikdas2020.

Great experience. I hope to visit again.

Awesome place just 10km from Jaipur city centre.

Good drivers , reasonable price.
Would definitely visit here again,as per drivers it's better to visit evening rather then morning.

Sighting is based on luck this is not an enclosure, lucky enough to spot two leopards in two safaris.

Improvement: Resturents for breakfast or evening snacks (there is no restaurants nearby) apart from tea shop

One of the best places to see Indian leopards. A grand success story of a barren land being converted into a thriving national park after years of hard work. Sighting rate of leopards is highest in the country here

Went on a safari with this company this morning. We didn't get to see leopards but that's the beautiful of wild animals.
I was really worried this wouldn't be as animal friendly as it sounded given the treatment/animal abuse of elephants in jaipur but it really is conservation work at its finest.
They are proving that leopard's can live in such close proximity to humans.
The reserve is fenced but the leopard's are able to leave the reserve if they wanted.
The driver was really friendly, very informative.
I wish I had more time in jaipur to have gone on another safari here!!

Good place to see leopards in Rajasthan with 90% accuracy throughout the year. Best time will be June and July as aravali hills become lush- green and seeing a golden leopard is like cherry on the top.

Must visit place in jaipur outskirts. Saw snakes matting, 4 leapords, dancing peacock, amazing surrounding and weather. Be careful with mobile in gypsy, hold it tight :)
