St. Mary's Church

No matter what religion you follow, one can get a glimpse of peace and freshness here as it is located in the lap of nature. It's more than a century old church located in a peaceful place surrounded with lush green trees. Church looks very beautiful. It is worth visiting place in Lansdowne.

I would say being a Christian that this church is awesome. Although space is less but how it is managed and cleaned that matters. You can visit here in morning hours and can spend some valuable time in here, you will definitely get inner peace. Time slots are there for opening and closure. Side view to this is very beautiful and I believe in rainy season it is more beautiful. Do visit if you are going towards tip-n-top.

This church is filled with peace and tranquility. It was built in the 18th century. Earlier a video of the brave Garhwal Regiments were often shown for 10mins by a projecter film. But now it's discontinued due to covid norms I guess. Surrounding the church is pine forest which keeps the temperature inside the church cool and soothing to some extent.

Nestled in the serene and quaint Hill station of Lansdowne, this place of worship is of the British Era.
It's approx 2km from Lansdowne Market.
Tip N Top view point is just 500 meters from the church.
History of the church is written on the board.
There is one eating joint also close by but expensive.
A must visit if you are in Lansdowne.

This church was built in British period in this cantonment area of Lansdowne. Location is mutch beautiful, surrounded with hills, you can see chaukhambha peak from here without telescopic help.
This church is under Indian army and they they called it library.
This church never conduct mass or prayer.

Visited on Saturday. It was open for all.

Location: At a distance of 2.5 km from Lansdowne Market. Near Tip-In-Top hill point of Lansdowne.

St. Mary's Church was built by Col. A.H.B Hume of the Royal Engineers. Construction of this Church began in 1895 and was completed in 1896. (I have covered a brief history in the photos).

This church was closed after 1947 and was later converted into a museum by the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre.

This Church has a picture gallery and a short 10 minute documentary on history of Lansdowne and Garhwal Rifles is played.

Note: It is open only on the weekends.

this church is around 125 years old but well maintained by our defence, an amazing architecture , still intact and standing robust for many more years ahead.

So... This place is so peaceful and amazing. It's a small church you can visit when you are walking towards tip-top point in Lansdowne. It's a place where you can relax and pray.

Not so big and savvy but it is good place to visit. Keep a check with parking space. It is always less.

Since Lansdowne is a small place, visit to Church becomes the part of itinerary on its own. But this does not mean one should take the visit to this place for granted. Its very old Church built during British Times. It appears as if built in Gothic Style. The place displays photographs and audio-visual presentation of History. The place is very peaceful and unique.

I was there in the Christmas itself, but somehow it closed that time. Couldn't get into the compound. Was there about 30 mins arund dusk

This place is very well maintained by Garwhal Refiles regiment. So peaceful and feltful.

Old church with British Protestant legacy. It also has an old bell made in Roorkie in 1892. Nice architecture
