I recently embarked on a weekend kayaking trip with my wife and kids, and it turned out to be nothing short of spectacular. Our experience was marked by a perfect blend of safety, excitement, and relaxation.

From the moment we set out on the tranquil waters, a sense of adventure enveloped us. The kayaking route provided just the right amount of challenge, allowing us to paddle through scenic landscapes and navigate gentle currents. Safety measures were meticulously in place, ensuring a worry-free expedition for the entire family.

The refreshing ambiance of nature, coupled with the invigorating physical activity, made for a truly rejuvenating experience. The clear waters mirrored the beauty of the surrounding environment, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility.

What set this kayaking trip apart was the seamless combination of adventure and relaxation. The thrill of conquering the waterways was complemented by moments of peaceful drifting, where we could soak in the serenity of nature. It was the ideal escapade for those seeking both excitement and repose.

In conclusion, our weekend kayaking adventure surpassed expectations, offering a safe, amazing, refreshing, and adventurous experience for the whole family. This outing has undoubtedly left us with cherished memories, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation in the great outdoors.

We had a great time experiencing the Kerala backwaters on a Kayak
The mangroves were very unusual and different from any we have ever seen before, we tied our Kayak to part of the mangrove and paddled around ( it’s very shallow everywhere) enjoying the natural surroundings.
Then we Kayaked to an island, and walked to the other side where there was a fabulous empty beach.
I urge anyone who can experience this adventure to do so
Highly recommended

Thanks to Rahul from Kavvai Stories, enjoyed an unprecedented access to the magic of northern Kerala’s, Payyanur and surrounding areas.

During my 11-days of slow travel, thanks to his expert curation, enjoyed two-blissed out Kayak rides, a survey of the vitality of mangroves and what they do to the ecosystem, Thayyam hopping and behind the scenes, back stage access to Kathakali dancers getting ready for performance.

Experiential tourism at its best, with every traveler need attended to.

What is unique about arranging an itinerary through KS is that the guest is treated like God from when we start to the end. A native’s love for this land and his extraordinary connections to the locals of the place, who then open doors to give a traveler a preview into their lives. Like how we sampled the hospitality of home stay hosts, Joe & Jose, even though we were day visitors.

All of this done with an ecosystem conscious ness and a deep abiding love for local arts and culture.

Coming back again 🫶🏽🙌🏽

We are Two families of 4 adults and 4 kids. Rahul has planned out night campine stay so well that all our kids enjoyed the kayaking and dinner. Special fish fry is so good kids also eat very happily. He took us two drives of kayak once to mangrove and next to sea beach side. I am very much impressed by his patience and planning and on time availability. I went kayaking with my mom and her friend for the first time. I was a little scared initially, but Rahul explained everything beforehand. It turned out to be a great experience.
They provided clean and damage-free kayaks and jackets, gave us useful tips, and the mangroves were beautiful. We even stopped at an island, which was truly stunning.
Overall, it was an amazing day, and we took a lot of photos to capture the memories.

It was a really great experience. Mangroves and serenic beauty of kavvayi enjoyed through kayaking. I would recommend everyone to visit and experience it. We had reached there around 5. We had a beautiful sunset experience. If possible please do reach early so that you can explore more. Our instructor Rahul gave us a brief on kayaking and had provided us with great support. Loved the place.♥

Kavvayi and Rahul (a very generous and knowledgeable curator of experiences) are a deadly combo 😂

I will keep coming back to get more! Whether it's the lovely kayaking among the mangroves, amazing food at Olam and many more places, taking in cultural experiences like theyyam and bell metal work... Payyanur, Malabar and Kavvayi have soo much to explore. And Rahul is the best person to reach out to.

He curated our 3 days perfectly and was the warmest host for a motley crew. The sunset view on Thabore hill was spectacular and an unexpected treat was some fruit wine tasting at a farm nearby.

If you are into nature and conservation, then ask him about his work with mangrove restoration at Kavvayi. His passion to make sure the mangroves have a fighting chance has led to a mangrove sapling nursery is being built at Kavvayi stories.

As I said, there is a lot to explore and be excited about when traveling with Kavvayi stories - this is THE Malabar that needs to be experienced.

I went Kayaking with Kavvayi Stories, the organisers of the camping, along with a friend. The two-hour adventure took us through a trail silhouetted by mangroves full of beauty. All along we received precise instructions and information on the Kavvayi backwaters from Rahul, our instructor. We had great conversations on the future of tourism in the area as well. The waters are shallower than one would think and, therefore, very safe. Since we took breaks to get down at various spots to learn more about them, the rowing was not tiring. We stopped by a part of the Valiyaparamba beach to catch the sunset before we headed back. We certainly hope to be back for a longer trail.

A great place for kayaking. We had a great time watching the sunset and kayaking through the mangroves. Host Rahul is a very genuine and a kind person and he’s been running this place for almost a decade now.

Thank you Rahul for a memorable experience at Kasargod. His passion for North Kerala and making it a preferred tourist destination for travellers is obvious. He alongwith a group of liked minded people are working earnestly towards this.

Visit to the Kunhimangalam Bell Metal Village was the highlight of our trip. Interacting with th artisans there and seeing the whole process of making metal wares was really special. Kayaking on the Kavvayi backwaters was an unforgettable experience.

Got the reference of Rahul through a common friend, and called him to book for Kayaking. He couldn't answer the call, but he made sure that he called me back and gave all the directions and the time slot to reach the kayaking point.
A very friendly guy Rahul is, and he will make sure that your experience is good once you reach there. We were three folks, including my 12-year-old son. He accompanied my son in a separate kayak, and made sure that he enjoyed the trip as well. Rahul comes across as a real passionate person about kayaking, and it is evident when you talk to him.
Add to that, it is a very beautiful location and a safe one at that for all age groups. Looking forward to the stay options and more kayaking experiences next time.
Keep up the friendly and warm experience, Rahul :)

Nothing much to say. It's all about Rahul. He took us to the roots where we come from. Everything is natural. He has a very personal space in my whole life for sure. Rest you should go and experience there. Ask him for the SEA KAYAKING. You can hold that for lifetime. And Babuvettan's lunch. "Money is not a factor there"...:
