Raja Bhoj Airport  is a domestic airport and a seasonal international airport serving Bhopal, the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Named after the 10th century Paramara king, Raja Bhoj, it is the second busiest airport in Madhya Pradesh in terms of passenger and aircraft movements and is the largest airport of the state in terms of area. Bhopal Airport well known as Raja Bhoj Airport, is a domestic as well as international airport, located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is approximately 15 km to the north-west of the heart of the city. On 23 October 2010, Saudi Arabian Airlines flew a Hajj charter plan which was the first direct international flight from Bhopal to Jeddah. The length of the runway is stretched up to 9000 feet so that larger aircrafts can land easily at airport. There are some regular flights of different operators such as Air India, Jet Airways, Spice Jet and JetKonnect.

Terminal 1: There is a single terminal for both domestic and international purpose. Though the terminal is a little small yet it is packed with world class amenities. Baggage Services: The airport has a good baggage service as you will find complimentary luggage trolleys to carry your luggage with ease. One can also get wheel chairs for senior citizens and disable people with escorts at the airport.

For food lovers, there are a few eating joints as well where you can go and taste delicious food of India. Apart from these things, one can also find TR Book Stall, Cafeteria as well as some juice counters.

Duty Free Shopping: You can shop for tax free things at the airport as here you will find some duty free shops. People can buy things like wine at the airport before they pass through the custom.

Connectivity with the City from Bhopal Airport

Bus stand: The distance between the Bhopal bus stand and the Raja Bhoj airport is about 13 km. You will easily find private cabs from the bus stand which will approximately take 20 minutes to reach the airport. At the airport, you will also find a pre-paid taxis booth.

Railway Station: The airport is approximately 19 km away from the railways station and it will take hardly 30 minutes to reach the airport. One can easily hire taxis to reach the airport from the railway station.

The airport is small and efficient. It is clean and comfortable due to its accessibility and well maintained roads. Doesn't harbor much traffic, making it very pleasant during checkins and boardings. The setups by various franchises are basic, but they provide us with most things.
You won't get travel blues while taking off/landing at Raja Bhoj Airport.

It is a Good Airport. One thing I always notice here is that vehicles hang on at the Arrival area for longer duration than other Airports. That is an unusual privilege,

Raja Bhoj airport Bhopal is one of the cleanest airports in India. It has all the basic amenities for passengers. There are not many flights from Bhopal to other parts of the country but despite unavailability of flights from the airport the airport maintenance high standards followed in the civil aviation industry. There are not many shops in the airport except food courts and clothing. No bus services are available for the airport. One has to hire a taxi or auto rickshaw to reach the airport.

Airport is not very big but a beautiful one.
It doesn't take much time to check-in here.
You can find auto as well outside the airport unlike big cities.

Clean and well maintained. The airport has been remodeled in the past years and now has a beautiful infrastructure. The personnel are very polite and great. Some persons even greeted us on the airport. The experience was really good.

Most flights are connected with bus , which is like 2 mins ride to the runway.

Fantastic airport in the name of famous king Raja Bhoj international airport has all amenities required for an airport. High ceilings offers ample of fresh air and smooth transition of all passengers travelling to and from Bhopal.

Toilet outside which is meant for those who come to see off their friends and family members is not upto the international standards.

Request authorities not to be satisfied because it's a shade better than Municipal Corporation toilets !

Is it an airport or a folk art and culture exhibition? Charming small airport for a big city. Kudos to the government and planners for making a modern and yet homely and tastefully decorated art scene! Plenty of local art display and idols of various political and ideological icons of Indian history!

And BTW, it's the only airport I know of which seems to have a dip in the runway and also the planes need to take a full U-turn on the runway after landing or before takeoff!

Name of this airport is based on the king of Bhopal, Raja bhoj. This airport is in northern side of the Bhopal city. There is not much crowd at airport. Easily check in and check out can be done. Airport is clean and having good environment.
