A brand new digital dual screen multiplex theater has been opened without any big inaugural function at the site of old,single screen,Jay Ganesh Theater,with new name,..NY Cinema..on Friday, 22nd April'2022 with daily 4 shows of different movies each.It is just a stone throw away distance ftom Mulund east stn.,on 2nd floor of the comml. bldg. with a total capacity of 352 seats including some lounge sitting.142 seats in screen-1 and 210 seats in screen-2. No balcony seats are there and rate of ticket is Rs.200, reasonably priced compared to other theaters in Mulund.In screen-1,opening movie is KGF2 and First inaugural show at screen-2 was,..Sher Shivraj, a Marathi language movie, specially selected by actor Ajay Devgan, who is a owner of this theater and he welcomes spectators at the opening of screen,whose wife,Kajol is also from Maharashtrian family with a great legacy of actresses of Hindi film industry.,foremost of this family goes back to veteran,beautiful,legendary actress,Shobhana Samartha,who was famous for her role as Sita, in a mythological film in late 50s.The next great successors were her two daughters, one is india's greatest actress, Nutan and another is Tanuja.Kajol is Tanuja's elder daughter,fluent in marathi language speaking.Ajay Devgan recently also produced a hit movie,Tanhaji, a biopic movie of a great warrior of Maratha kingdom,led by Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.Theater has aesthetically done inner and outside build up.Projection and sound quality is very good.It has all the facilities for film spectators,viz.snacks stall,waiting area and wash rooms.It is the only theater in the Mulund East area.,on the way of young college going crowd,of Kelkar college at 90ft. road.At last after a long waiting of almost 8 years,film fans of Mulund East area get their own good movie theater with options of 2 screens.

Ganesh theatre even today screens some of the best Marathi films. It's a single screen theatre with a balcony option.

I returned almost after 6 years back to talkies life with my parents.Ganesh Talkies delivered the same experience same entertainment,the only reason i came to watch the Thackeray movie because i wanted a fully Marathi manus feeling while watching the movie which i had the entire time, the मजा in watching the marathi movie in talkies rather than going in cineplex is a whole different level.
I just want to thank GANESH TALKIES for giving such experience in this time.

A land mark in Thane, right opposite Registrar of Housing Societies. Neat, small, tidy movie theater. Frugal food options. Limited parking.
