The Pine Forest in Kodaikanal is a serene and picturesque tourist spot located in the southwest of the city. It is renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and the towering pine trees that were planted back in 1906 by Mr. Bryant to grow timber. Today, it stands as a preserved heritage site, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in nature's beauty.

The forest is not only a place for scenic views but also an ideal spot for activities like horse riding, nature walks, and photography. It's a perfect retreat for those looking to unwind amidst the lush greenery. The Pine Forest is divided into two areas, with Pine Forest-1 being more crowded and Pine Forest-2 offering a quieter experience. There's no entry fee, and the forest is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, making it accessible for a day of exploration.

The pine forest is just an open forest with pine trees all over. It has an entry ticket of Rs 10 per person. And they have photo areas and people to click and print pictures for u for a price. Also one can click a photo in the mobile if they need. But to take a camera in , ticket must be bought. The weather is relatively colder inside the forest than the rest of the area so wear appropriate clothing.
There is a wash room located within a few meters from the entrance on the outside.

Pine forest is a must visit place.
Covered with a lot of pine trees. The ticket cost is 10 ₹. Very good place for photoshoot.
We can also have a horse ride and cost around 200 ₹ per head. It was a great experience.
There are a lot of monkeys there so please carefully plan your activity otherwise we lose our belongings.

It's an amazing experience. Beautifully maintained pine forest you can enjoy photography with a backdrop of huge & tall pine trees.

Don't go for horse riding here they charge ₹ 200 /- Just for 5min before you realize your ride is over. They will not even wait for a moment to click the photo. People have to run behind horses to take video.
There is no. time limit for how much time you can spend here so can just relax.
To reach this point be ready for traffic and spend 30-45min in it. if lucky you will get a roadside parking space near the forest or can park at a distance and walk.

Wondering place to visit and a great place for photography. Very calm atmosphere and we won't regret if we visit the place with the perfect weather conditions. I have visited pine forest during the end of December and it was amazing during the time because the forest was completely filled with fog.

The place is so beautiful, covered by tall pine trees all around. Best for photography and enjoying with friends and family.
You can also enjoy horse riding here but it's a bit costly.
You can collect some good pine fallen from the trees. The place is a bit crowded on public holidays, so if you are planning to go, try going on weekends.
I visited in March, but I can imagine how this place looks during winter all covered in dense mist. No wonder they shoot horror movies here 😜🤪.
The best time to visit is winter,
Try wearing Red or Yellow here to get your best pictures 😅, as these colours will pop.

Note: Do not carry food along, as there are many monkeys at the place, and they can be very clumsy and try to steal the food.

Loved this place. It feels nice to be in this forest of really tall trees. Either take a leisurely stroll or sit down and enjoy the beauty.

When we visited, there were too many people, and it was too noisy. I am sure if it was little quieter, it would have been a fantastic experience.

We went there twice...because why not!!! However the second time we went there it was very foggy and it gave very creepy vibes....but the overall experience was wonderfull...there are horse rides available...you can bargain with them a bit but mostly it is 200..we got for 150 because my kid cried a lot throughout the ride...and so we had to stop halfway....The forest itself was very beautiful very photogenic place....feels like you are in a bollywood song..the smell of wood and rain drenched soil is floating all around ....we ended up making filmy reals at this place... 😁

It's a trail of spots approximately 1km apart when you enter the valley. It's 20 rs for entering the road and you can visit 4 spots and park there. The fog made the place mysterious and beautiful. There are horse rides, photo frames etc... available. There are a lot of shops at the entrance. It's very crowded, even parking is hard if you are traveling in a car.
