Geyzing Market Area

A must visit. Specially if you are someone who loves local produce, local ferments, mountain honey and exotic wine starters. The market is small with a variety of local vegetables, greens, ferns, pickles, ferments and yak cheese. The local folk are kind and patient with your questions. Do try their churpi ghew, kinema, gundruk and mountain honey

It's like a dream. There is a taxi stand here where you can get shared as well as exclusive rides to Pelling, Jorethang and most other surrounding places even hoti Gangtok. The market here is amazing and the sunday flea market of Geyzing is well known as lots of makeshift kiosks are set up where lots of interesting stuff can be bought, from clothing to cutlery and footwear to kids toys and gadgets. This flea market closes by late afternoon. The Geyzing Monastery is one of the oldest in the area and highly renowned.

Its over all an organic market , the vegetables you get are 99% organic ..
Its a small town where you can find almost everything ...

Geyzing is a nice place , market is well organised and you can injoy local food and buy kind of stuff here.

What to say about the district headquarters. The market becomes lively on every Sunday as people from the nearby villages pour in the place and set up stalls which sell almost every thing a family would need. You could get cheap vegetables and fruits.

So lovely place and cool weather. Must stay and enjoy weather and local organic food.

Visited on holi. Most places were closed but essentials were still open. No disruptions for travellers here. People are helpful, as in all of Sikkim.
