Navghar Police Station Mulund East

Okay so I went for passport police verification. It is near to the bus depot. The officer was polite and helpful. I was short of few documents so they sent me back and accepted my verification next day after the documents were complete. Just talk politely and with a smile. There is a general notion that they ask for bribe for police verification but I haven’t seen any of these in my two verification processes. The office is air conditioned with an inverter back up. Just not expected at a police station. 5 out of 5 stars for the passport verification process.

Passport verification staff were nice when I visited in 2019. Part of a form was in marathi, using terms I did not understand since I learnt it only at school, but they explained every term to me. There were lot of people in the queue but they patiently helped everyone.

Image shows what documents needs to be submitted, take everything listed in the image without doubt, even passport office didn't asked for more than pan and aadhar but here take everything you can as it will be needed. Timing are 11-6, I had always called to ask if I can visit after my daily job after 6 pm but the office is closed by the time.

Yes this is what happened with me. Back in 2011 I had lost my cellphone in the auto rickshaw. Trying to reach my cellphone I realised that it was intentionally switched off which means technically it was lost & stolen as well. Unfortunately I rushed to this police station in a casual attire ( T shirt & shorts). The rude lady cop on the desk preached moral policing to me about my attire and gave a judgemental statement saying I was manners less because I came there in shorts. Some how I convinced her to register my complaint but she asked me to write everything on the papers instead it was her job. Over here she scolded me because I mentioned that the thief had switched off my cellphone. It was 10:30 pm and now she asked me get a xerox copy of the paperwork. I had to go back to Mulund East Market place to get the copy, It was impossible for me to get a copy as all shops were closed by this time. Again she scolded me and reached the scanner + printer behind her desk as if she was doing a big favour. The complaint was registered but the cellphone & thief were never found. Whenever I go to this police station I have seen the cops laughing, commenting and giggling over people’s attire. I am not afraid in posting this because I want the tax payers like me know how efficiently the money is utilised to protect the people and even after you have all rights and freedom injustice happens even in the place where we expect to seek justice.
