One of the oldest temple of Shiva which is app 1000 years old. Beautifully carved temple which is very unique.
No wait usually if one visits early morning before 8 am even on weekends
We were fortune to witness the morning Abhishek and aarti at around 8 am and the experience was truly mesmerizing.
It is ideal to visit by Fast Local train from Dadar which takes an hour and from the station lot of share autos are available which costs Ra 20 per person and one can reach the mandir in 10 minutes. Shops nearby the mandir sells pooja items. No hotels for breakfast and one need to come back to near the railway station for any meals
🙏Har Har Mahadev 🙏

Visiting Ambarnath temple was an enlightening experience. The ancient architecture and serene ambiance gives us exceptional peaceful vibes.
As I entered the mandir, I was enveloped by a sense of spirituality. The intricate carvings and divine aura of temple is striking.
We got a chance to visit the temple on the auspicious day of chatrapati Shivaji maharaj jayanti which occurred on Monday hence, we have to wait in queue for near about 30/35 minutes to entered mandir. You can plan your visits as such that you can get darshan in the mornings to avoid long queues.
I wholeheartedly recommend Ambarnath Temple to anyone seeking solace, spiritual enlightenment, or simply a moment of serenity amidst life's chaos. It is truly a sanctuary for the soul, waiting to be explored and cherished by all who seek divine grace. And best part is not so far from Mumbai a hour and half drive topmost.

Ancient Temple of Lord Shiva. Beautiful carvings and Lord Nandi on the entrance.
The Tempe also has a magestic tunnel view from where one can view the Garbh Gruh from outside of the temple and take blessings of Lord Shiva.
The temple surrounding has the idols pf different gods.
It also has the stepwell near the compound of the temple.
There is temple of Deviji near the temple where we should visit for blessings.

The Shiva Temple in Ambernath, Thane, is a serene spiritual haven that captivates visitors with its architectural grandeur and profound ambiance. Nestled in the heart of Ambernath, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and stands as a symbol of cultural and religious significance.

The temple's intricate design, adorned with ancient carvings and sculptures, showcases remarkable craftsmanship that reflects the rich heritage of Indian architecture. This temple is really Old and not well preserved. It's in ruining stage. The locals come here mostly and the Best part of the temple is that one can serve the lord Shiva by themselves. ( You can do your own Abhishekam to Shiv lingam). You can do all rituals to the two lingams present here. The temple premises dosent have toilets. The temple tank is maintained well but it needs restoration. Very peaceful Place.

The temple is a locally managed temple by Patil clan who get turn every 4 years to manage the temple. It’s not under unesco so it is not managed as well but it’s a great architecture. Saying is that it was constructed in one day originally by Pandavas and later a king built it fully . The Shikhar is open and truncated and hence the same Ambar Nath as ambar means open sky.

The temple was originally built near a river which seems to have vanished now hence has opening on two sides opposite to allow water to flow through. The Original shilling by Pandavas isbythere and alongside is another one installed by the king in 1000 AD.

It’s a peaceful temple and without much rush . You can go via Bike or car till the temple opening and have Darshan in no time . It’s worth going and seeing how Indian architecture was so fabulous. Go and spend some time.

Tranquil Evening at Shiv Mandir, Ambarnath

My April 2022 visit to Shiv Mandir in Ambarnath was a serene journey through time, accentuated by the calming presence of the Waldhuni river. Nestled along its banks, this 11th-century Hindu temple exudes tranquility and spiritual grace, especially when experienced in the evening.

Believed to be built in 1060 AD, the temple's unique architecture showcases meticulous craftsmanship. The 20 steps leading to the inner sanctum, Garbhagriha, reveal a Swayambhu Shiv Ling at the center. Constructed in coarse brownish stone typical of the region, the temple's corrugated plan allows for intricate sculptures and decorations, creating a visual feast.

The three porches providing access to the central hall add to the temple's grandeur. Shivratri emerges as a major festival, drawing devotees from across the country to partake in the auspicious celebrations.

My time at Shiv Temple, Ambarnath, transcended a mere visit; it fostered a connection with centuries of history, spirituality, and the possibility of an unfinished tale etched in stone. Amidst the tranquil ambiance and the gentle whispers of the river, this temple stands as a timeless retreat for those seeking peace and a glimpse into India's rich architectural heritage.

The Shiv Mandir of Ambarnath is a historic 11th-century architectural magic. It is so amazing. The way we reach inside the temple is so beautiful the stone steps with a small stream of water flowing down the steps. The mind will get refreshed once we visit.
