St. Cajetan Church, also known as the Church of Divine Providence, is a church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman located in Old Goa. The church was completed in 1661 and is part of the World Heritage Site, Churches and convents of Goa.

The church is in the form of a Greek cross and has a large dome with Latin inscriptions from the Gospel of Matthew on its inside. The Corinthian style facade of the church has four granite statues of Saints Peter, Paul, John the Evangelist and Matthew. The church has seven altars, with the main altar dedicated to Our Lady of Providence. The main altar is based on the one at Church of San Nicolo, Verona, and was ordered in 1713 by the Theatines under the patronage of Cosimo III de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. There are three altars on each side of the entrance, with the altar to Saint Cajetan is located on the right.

This is another church within walking distance from the Se Cathedral. This one is also nice but less maintained than the other two and less crowded.

Another massive building in a quaint side street of Old Goa.
Not many tourists around.
The interior looks bigger than it actually is.

Well maintained and well organised church and complex near Old Goa church (Bom Jesus Basilica). Beautifully carved in terms of Classical Architecture. It has surrounded by the designed landscape by good volumes of bushes. It has the ruins of palace on one side. This place is very calm and composed.

One of the most beautiful and grand churches in Goa👌🏻. The best thing about this place is that not many people visit this place and hence it is less crowdy and quiet😌. Loved the architecture and history of this place.
There is also some ruins of an Adil Shah's palace gate, which were also beautiful. A must visit place 👍🏻👍🏻

NO... this is not amongst the famous Trio of Old Goa.... Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral and St. Augustine Church or Church of Our Lady Of Grace...this Church of St.Cajetan, popularly known as the Church of Divine Providence...is lesser known and less visited, but believe me, this is probably the most beautiful among all Goa Churchs and Cathedrals. Just 200 meters from famous Se Cathedral and beside Viceroy 's Arch... stands tall Church of St. Cajetan. Modelled on St. Peter's Basilica of Vatican City, this Church is a part of UNESCO World Heritage Site, Churches and Convents of Goa. This Church is the form of a Greek Cross...a large dome with inscriptions of Gospel of Matthew. This Church of Theatine Order is a marvel to watch.

Most beautiful and peaceful church in Goa. Trust me, I saw almost all the big churches on Google map. I loved it. The paintings are really beautiful and preserved well as compared to other churches. The roof, and walls are also well preserved. The sculptures are mind blowing. It is a must watch place if you are in Goa. The church is close to Arc of Viceroy where you can cross the river to reach Divar Island.

The church is designed by Italian architects , mimicking the st. Peter’s basilica of Rome. Belong to 15th century built by the Theatines. This church is a typical example of Corinthian architecture. You get to see the magnificence inside the church . Its free to visit the church but not the convent beside .

An extremely beautiful but relatively unknown gem because it is situated a little ahead of Se Cathedral. The facade mimics that of St Peter's, Rome. The church was built by Italian friars, not by the Portuguese. Contains an impressive central dome with 2 rows of windows high up, supported on massive pillars. Also has lovely vaulted ceilings and some large paintings. A must visit after a visit to the churches of Bom Jesu, St Augustine chuch and Se Cathedral, in that order.

Part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, This Church was built by Italian Architects in 16th Century. The church is not functional as of today due to construction error in dome because of which the cross cannot be put in top of it.

Beautiful and peaceful church
- right behind the se cathedral, though you will have to come out of the gate to the main road to reach here.
- the architecture is quite different from the rest of the churches of old Goa
- the gate of Aadil Shah's palace is also in the same compound
- very very peaceful church.
- like all other churches, you are not allowed to take photographs of people or with stands.
- though I didn't find any guides here, the staff was kind enough to tell some interesting facts like the the week beneath the altar or the vaults beneath.
