The ferry ride to the place is the first highlight.
The ticket counter is right next to the ferry boarding point.
Funny thing is "ONLY CARDS" Is accepted for an entry ticket and you have to enter a few details in the booklet
Once you enter it is a long walk of 2 km which is beautiful or scary based on the type of person you are.
Lots of crabs, birds and natural mangrove beauty can be seen all around. It may take an hour for you to complete the entire distance. Boating is time bound and better to check at the ticket counter.
If you are a photographer, there are multiple spots to capture.
Don't litter, sad to see so many liquor bottles floating due to River Tide.

Great place to visit in Goa. It's near Panji at Ribandar. You have to cross over from Ribandar in a boat and reach the other side which is Chorao Island. The sanctuary is small but one can take a boat ride which is usually for an hour. Birds which I saw were herons, kingfishers, terns, skimmers, kites and storks.

It's a beautiful place to visit at both dawn and dusk. The mangroves are beautiful. A boat ride availability is a must to capture the beautiful birds. One can also walk in the sanctuary but bird sightings will be limited. One can enjoy the bliss of nature and the chirping of birds in absolute calm. After visiting the sanctuary one can go around the island. It's beautiful and you'll find birds in different parts of the island too, not limited to the sanctuary.

Beautiful mangroves. Didn't see many birds, though. Went in mid March.
Hot.
Wish it was better maintained, since it's a popular tourist spot.
Many sign boards to identify the flora & fauna of the area, but hardly saw any.
Picnic goers make noise, create garbage & drive away the birds & animals.

It was totally pristine!
During monsoon we hardly spot any bird, but the entire Sanctuary is lush green with full of life. It's perfect for a slow leisure morning walk to get completely immersed into the mangroves.
It has an interpretation centre.
Appropriate information boards on significance of Mangrove Ecosystem and Khazan lands in Goa. It was really interesting for me.

The beautiful mangrove forest. Just go on weekdays there is a bamboo bridge for walk. It's a holiday on government holidays. So plan accordingly. You have to reach this by ferry available there and it is free for 2 wheeler vehicle.

This sanctuary was the highlight of my Goa trip.
Reached this place by 8:30am and joined a group for the boat ride. Got to see several species of birds. The weather was perfect to enjoy the mangroves. Highly recommended for those wanting to be closer to nature.
To get to the sanctuary which is on the other side of the river - a free ferry ride is available which will take you to the sanctuary.

A must visit to all nature lovers. But don’t go during monsoon as the high tides in monsoon months makes it mostly inaccessible. You can park the vehicles at the ferry point and take the free ferry ride to the sanctuary.

You have to go at the right time to see the birds but otherwise it's an amazing nature walk experience among the mangroves.

Great place to learn about mangroves and their role in intertidal ecosystem, and fishes, birds and reptiles in these zones.
I missed the early morning bird spotting, but do visit in early morning if you can.

Excellent nature walk in the mangroves , but have you be very careful while walking as the path is not proper.

Lots of sign boards , about the animals living in that habitat, thought we couldn't find not even single bird except the crabs , mudskipper and frog while walking in the Mangroves, though we were there at 6:30 am on a summer day.

We took the boat ride in the Mangroves which was amazing and found lots of birds , including Bramhini Kite , Syberian crane and very rare Kingfisher. One must go boat ride for to enjoy the sanctuary.

Nature at its best! Yet very close to human habitation. The place is best visited early in the morning when you can sight some birds. If you believe in just taking a leisurely stroll this would be ideal. There is a 1km human built pathway through the mangroves. You could also choose to take the motor boat ride @Rs750 for a group of 8. The ride itself is for around 30 minutes and quite a pleasure. The world here doesn't seem to recognise the beauty of this place and is quite abandoned. There are hardly any folks visiting this place. Take time out and see what this place has on offer. Try out the ferry ride to access this place.

A must must visit while in Goa. The Boat Ride is one of the best thing you will experience in your life.

The entry fees for the santuary is Rs 100 for adults. For the Boat Ride you need to pay extra Rs1200 ( max 12 people; so cost can be divided among all 12)

The best time to go for the boat ride is around 6:30-7AM in winters and 5:30-6AM in winters when tide is low.

You will be able to spot around 10-20 species of different bird species depending on your luck.

Very well maintained santuary! Highly recommended.

It’s a good and exciting walk through a swamp forest. We went in the afternoon, we did not get to see any birds.

Pro tip - for the bird lover in you, reach here at 7 am, the park will be open.

The afternoon walk in the forest as adventurous and with little accident where I banged my head to a tree branch while walking. So mind your head. Walkway is well laid out.

Very beautiful place. Different types of mangroves trees are there and even different types of aquatic and rare species are there which are beautiful. Must visit. The way to go there is true ferry ride which is very beautiful experience. Price is also very cheap. Good for excursion and other environmental study. Different birds are also seen but you require proper observation and Time to see them. 🤩👌🏽🌿
