have been living in Thane for more than a decade now. Its a beautiful city. Its the hub on the central line. Everything is convenient. With one of the best malls and shopping areas in Thane/Mumbai, its the ultimate place to shop. Food is amazing. People are helpful. The newly developed 4 lane roads are fantastic. The flyovers and bridges make Thane very connecting.
Thane railway station is a major station on the central railway route. You can travel to Pune, Nashik, Nagpur by train from Thane station itself. By road it takes an hour to reach the western line, dahisar, borivli etc. It also connects to vasai, surat n beyond.
Thane is a fantastic place to live. The only problem is the traffic at some junctions which now I think is everywhere. Hopefully when the metro is constructed, it will be better.

Most of the residents are working people, usually busier in peak hours. Have a lot of streat food and other foods too. But the cost of living is on a bit higher side for middle class people. The transit is comfortable and so is the environment around here.

It's one of the oldest and busiest railway stations in Mumbai on the Central railway. This station has 10 platforms. Also having ticket counters on both sides. Proper restrooms are available.

Best station for all locals and trains. Platforms are allocated for different different lines like centre and harbour line..

Thane is best place to visit with your loved ones and has many malls and ponds garden etc many more

Best place for residence very peaceful... Marathi is the mostly used local language... Center place that connect both south Mumbai and trans harbor and vashi navi mumbai

Thane city is more tough to navigate than other cities but great to explore.
Just be aware of rikshawala they don't tell you if it's on meter or not even you ask in mid journey they say so and charges 10x .
But it's the City that moulds you to survive and at the end have some great Experiences.

Thane station infrastructure has improved a lot in recent times. New
FOB's are constructed to ease travelers traffic.
It's a junction where many outstation express trains stops.
It also has 2 platforms for Navi Mumbai connectivity {Panvel, Vashi...}

Thane is awesome smart City. Thane city Central train network is somewhat crowded but harbour line is not so crowded. Ghodbunder road is developing area in the city. New metro lines are under construction so reason for heavy traffic.

Thane district is also adminitratively declared as Thane Municipal Corporation (2011). Thane railway station has 171 trains passing by every day, therefore it is considered as Grade A railway station.
