It is one among the ancient Orthodox Church in Kerala which has witnessed various historical events... it is also the home Parish of St.Gregorios (Popularly known as Parumala Kochu Thirumeni). It is a very beautiful Church. Good to meditate and pray. Must visit!

Its a historical place in the history of Malankara syrian church.. So blessed church.. Madbaha(Holy of holy) is so beutiful and filled with lot of art works and more than that filled with gods presence.. Now its under the orthodox syrian church. Since early morning till late night the church is open and any one can go and pray.. This is the place of worship and a good place for the friendship with God.. Mulanthuruthy marthoman valiyapalli is the reall blessing of mulanthuruthy town.. Many bishops had buried here we can pray in there tomb.. God bless you all..

The church was established in 11th century and modified in 16th century (in 1550) by the Knanaya Tharakan (minister) Kunchacko of the Kunnassery family. Due to an altercation between the Syrian Christians and the Kingdom of Vadakkumkur Kunchacko had gathered the Knanaya of Kaduthuruthy Church as well as all Syrian Christians he could find within Vadakkumkur and moved them to Mulanthuruthy. Upon arrival Kunchacko had sanctioned the building of the Mulanthuruthy Church. Later the Knanaya were called back to their home church of Kaduthuruthy by the descendants of the King of Vadakkumkur, leaving Mulanthuruthy Church in the care of the Syrian Christians who remained there
