Nice and calm place. My kids loved this place. There were many lions, tigers, elephants and fishes that are stuffed. They have a nice garden. Touch, feel and learn garden is not working now. Place showing human evolution was also wonderfully maintained. There is ample car parking space and no entry fee or no car parking fee. There is direct entry to karanji lake from this place.

One of the must visit places in Mysore. Such an informative yet entertaining places out there. I never thought kids could enjoy so much in a museum. They also learnt a lot. Free entry, no one to restrict visitors and peaceful and clean environment makes it worth visiting every single time. Taxidermy of animals and pictorial representation of evolution are the highlights. Must must must visit if you are planning a trip to Mysore. It's quite close to the palace so u don't have to wander much.

It’s a really good effort to help children understand natural history. I wish they maintain it better though. Some areas are closed off while existing exhibits are crumbling.
Entrance is free thus they don’t get any money from visitors.
Maybe they should have a QR code for people who want to voluntarily contribute any amount of choice? Or perhaps a small cafeteria on the extensive grounds could be a way to earn money?

The museum has three attractions. Namely the Temporary Exhibition, the Biological diversity center, and the Discovery Center. One can find taxidermied specimens of Leopards, Cheetahs, Tigers, Wild Bears, Turtles, Snakes, and various other birds. In addition to that, one can also find a preserved skeleton of a Bryde's Whale, which is of more prominence. Overall a great place for wildlife enthusiasts. Entry is free of cost. The staff is friendly and polite.

An amazing place to watch and learn about our heritage. Has many sections including evolutionary biology, local species of plants and animals and various models. The place has a very calm environment and lots of greenery. Ample parking space is available. And I wonder why people don't visit this place more often, while the entry is totally free.
