Exceptionally good and down to earth food.Stll used firewood in kitchen.This place has the charm of a bygone era and bring back lot of nostalgoc vibes. Helpful and friendly staff. very near to Sri Jambukeswara temple.Highly recommended.

Went to this restaurant after visiting tiruvanaikovil temple... pray to Jambukeswara and Shri Akhilandeshwari.... the restaurant is very near to the temple and you have to wait for some time to get the seat and you have to keep looking for some one to getup and choose the seat and I think at a time 20 people can have the food... I ordered idly, ghee dosa, poori and coffe and all are very good and vwry tasty... authentic food and will sure enjoy the food...authentic food and very old hotel... rate is very cheap and for all those food I just got the bill of rs. 110 and taste is priceless...

Well.. what can I write about this place.

For those who like authentic vegetarian tiffen for a competitive price, this is the best place.
I literally travel to only have food here.
The hygiene is maintained as well..

The only con is, now a days they use only gas cylinder instead of wooden fire cooking due to commercialisation.

A must visit place.

Words can little explain the beauty of this place . Excellent food taste of which will remain on your tongue for a good time, serving staff runs the business by owning it. Very reasonable pricing. Must try to have authentic taste.

It is an old restaurant and more like a mess.
But the food is so tasty n amazing, and affordable too.

They serve on the banana leaf.
Definitely go for it if you like authenticity.

Very famous butter dosa and ghee roast 😋 whenever I visit Tiruvanaikoil I'll visit this restaurant.
Proper authentic high class veg restaurant.

Parthasarathi Vilas! It sits right at the outer wall of the famed Tiruvanaikoil Temple in Trichy. The eatery opens early at 5am and have been serving ardent early-morning temple goers for decades. We suddenly plan to visit this place one early morning. It has been close to a decade from my previous visit. What used to be a dingy, smoke covered place had now been cleaned and renovated a little. The waiters were courteous and suggested to have the rava pongal first.

When I had the first morsel of rava pongal, I was shocked to realise that taste hasn't gone down a single bit. It was velvety smooth with the right hints of pepper. Next bite was onto the Sambar Vada. This is not your average Vada dunked into a bowl of sambhar just when you had ordered. This one had been swimming in the sambhar right from it's birth close to an hour. It literally melts into your mouth and tasted divine.

The most famous item of Parthasarathi Vilas is the Ghee roast though. We were heart-broken when the waiter said that the dosa won't be available till 7:30am in the morning.
We did what any self-respecting foodie would do. We roamed around a bit along the Tiruvanaikoil Temple and came back exactly at 7:30 with a sheepish grin in our faces. The hotel was jam-packed this time and we had to wait a few turns. Finally got our seats and ordered the ghee roasts.

Since there was a huge order queue for the dosa due to the crowd, we we're offered an option to have poori as starters till then. We politely agreed to that proposal and started munching. After the long wait, the dosa arrived with much fan fare and it was worth the wait. The dosa was roasted to golden brown with generous amounts of ghee dripping from it and tasted heavenly.

I wouldn't go as far as saying this as the best I had tasted. There are a number of places in Chennai which are at par to this place. But making an early morning trip to a heritage hotel which maintaims it's quality over decades still makes it for an interesting experience. ☺☺

This restaurant is one of the long pending in my bucket list. Suddenly I got the opportunity and I grabbed it. The opening times are bit odd as the open from morning 6 to 11 and again from evening 3 to 9 night so who ever visiting has to keep this in mind. The ambiance is old styled house with spacious seating. The staff is courteous. The USP of this hotel is ghee roast which is very light and aroma of pure ghee can be felt. The ghee doas is not too heavy or not too light in your stomach at the same time worth for the money. The accompanied chutney and sambar is also good. There is no irritation in your throat. Over all it a must visit place in Trichy Thiruvanaikoil.

One of very old shop in thiruvanaikovil..They serve breakfast items such as idly, poori,vada, Pongal and dinner items such as ghee roast, plain roast, podi roast, rava roast etc.. all items are served with sambar, and two types of chutney.. the sambar taste was very good.. hotel staffs are very polite.. we can get parcel

Tried plain dosai, sambar vadai and Mysore bonda. It was all too good, including the sambar and chutneys served. Restaurant with plenty of history, still maintained well, clean and speedy service. Must try!

The butter dosa and the onion chutney and dhaal chutney combination is highly addictive if you are a foodie...

The best part they open at 5 in the morning, welcomes you with the aroma of butter dosa, hot hot idli, spicy sambar and the typical fragrance of native identity. Their utensils has a cut mark, which is an unique cut mark way to safeguard from being theft.

Loved the old rustic , no big interior hotel..still dark nd old with limited menu, yes very limited idly, ghee roast and vadai only..if u want pongal be there by 5 am..it finishes in half nd hr...the limited menu is the best here, they try to keep it as tasty ...one of the must try hotels

Started in 1943 by the brothers Ananthanarayan and Subramaniam, the eatery was maintained with same flavours till now.
Speciality: Butter roast and ulundu vada could be the best pair in Parthasarathy territory.
