Beautiful & adventures place.
Low temperature & high altitude, so you need to take more precautions.

Roads are too narrow. Need to have hard driving skills.

15-20 minutes of walking from parking to view the lake.

I visited Chandratal in September end 2022 and it was very cold and Too windy. Wear layers and don’t take the weather granted, it may show good temp but it gets chilly than what it is mentioned. You need to hike for a km to reach this lake. This lake is so beautiful that you will forget the cold and wind 😅 I kept admiring the beauty of this lake. Must visit to this place. This is surreal experience .. 😍

An exciting place at the end of Himachal Pradesh. This lake is deep & water remains very cold. It is highly advised not to take a bath t this river as it may cause life damage. I took deep breath & yoga beside this lake. Stay in camp in a nearby camping place

Visited Chandra Taal Lake on October 7, 2022.
It was a bright sunny afternoon, sky was clear and because of that the colour of the water was magical. The crystal clear water, the blue sky, the mountains, the snow capped peaks, the cool breeze, the sunlight everything was so heavenly.
I am blessed to witness this heavenly lake on Earth.

Chandertal lake situated at the height of 4250 mtr, also known as the "Moon Lake," is a stunning lake located in the Himalayas. When I arrived at the lake, I was immediately captivated by its beautiful appearance. The clear water sparkled like a mirror, reflecting the mountains and the blue sky above. It was a peaceful moment and even the most restless person would feel calm. The roads to Chandertal are difficult and require skill and caution.
I highly recommend this trip to all adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers who seek to be mesmerized by the wonders of the Himalayas.

The lake is surreal. We went there in the first week of July and the weather was bone chilling, also because it was drizzling. The clouds were floating right above the mountains and we could see the beautiful lake in its most surreal form.

First glimpse and the place is just wow! Everything about it is so magical. It just hypnotizes you. Clean and clear blue waters, vegetation free multicoloured mountains and patch of green around the lake. Simply picture perfect. Wish I was still there !!

It was amazing experience. The lake was beautiful. Water is so clear that you can see everything inside the lake.
only problem is night. It is so dark and wind is very cold.
Oxygen level was very low. We had breathing problem in the night.
So be prepared if you want to stay long specially in the night

Amazing place, beautiful what can I say about this look at your self, Do mind couple of things
1. Lake is sacred, so dont play around it, dont drink n do nonsense things treat it as a holy place
2. This place is not for faint hearted people, oxygen level goes down, u have to stay in tent, there are no hotels, no proper medical nothing.
3. Don't come from manali side, but if u want to come do stay one night at koksar n get so ur chances of getting AMS gets low

Awesome lake. This lake is 12-13 km from highway and it's fully off road condition. If some one is on Spiti trip, they must visit Chandrataal. Camps are available a km before the lake. No one is allowed to stay or camp near lake after sunset.

I have not come across a lake so beautiful as Chadratal. The walk from the parking to the edge of the lake and the way it opens up in front of you as you walk to it is just super. The colours of the water and mountains side are a sight to view. And the camera does total justice to each image one captures.

Inorder to experience utter calmness you got to visit Chandrataal Lake. Accessible from July to December via Kunzum pass.

If you travel during June/July you get witness young himalayan snow covered alps while crossing Kunzum. Absolute unfiltered raw landscapes. Don’t pollute the holy lake please. Carry your wastes along with you and dispose them later.

Its definitely a stunning lake. We were there in peak summer and when we reached our camp, it was so hot that we decided to trek to the lake in shorts.. BIG MISTAKE. Our driver dropped up to the point from where the hike to the lake starts. Its quite a hike but definitely doable. Took us about 45 mins to reach the lake and it was awesome. The entire landscape is just stunning. We were happily clicking pics and soaking it all in. We watched the sun go down. I mean who would wanna miss the subset at such an amazing place? We should have! The moment the sun went down, the temperature drastically dropped. Although it was a touch hike, which should have generated warmth, we were still shivering and repenting our decision to dress scantily. We somehow managed to reach back safely. We realized we were not the only ones who made this mistake. So posting here for the benefit of all, please learn from our mistake :-)

It is located in a remote high altitude area of Himachal Pradesh called Spiti. Although the lake in itself is very beautiful, the drive to the lake is also very scenic. One needs to walk for about 10-15 min to get to the lake from the road head. It is about 100km from Manali and similar distance from Kaza. You do have stay options in the form of tents (no hotels), where you can spend the night. It gets bitterly cold at night and extremely cold in winters, so plan accordingly.

Time flies, take whole round of lake you will amaze.🤫
Beautiful place to explore.
Don’t not swim, take bath or wash your clothes. As per locals this is sacred place and one must leave this place before sunset.
