Great ambiance, reasonable prices. Good taste. Top notch lighting and clean restrooms are the highlight. Local delicacies are more tasty. North Indian items feel less apt as per North Indian taste. But definitely worth visiting once for the sake of local South Indian dishes, sweets and service offered at very affordable prices.

Loved the food here and the ambience is awesome. The restaurant is renovated now and it's awesome to have a dine in experience. The rest rooms are very clean and neatly maintained. The service is good and the food items are very tasty and worth the quantity. Must try ones are their panneer items, special meals gravy items and ghee roast and in desserts rasamalai and brownie with ice cream are the best. One of the best veg restaurants in Coimbatore. Loved it.

Annapoorna is one of the top restaurants in Coimbatore. It is located right beside the road and has ample car parking space. However, it can get quite crowded during peak hours.

It has an enormous area with loads of seating. Air conditioned seating is also available. Sweets and confectioneries can be bought at the entrance. The ambience is decent, but can be improved.

The restaurant is pure veg, but it has a wide array of options which caters to everyone. Options range from breads to gravies to salads to huge platters. The food is excellent, and the service is also decent and quick.

All in all, Annapoorna is a great restaurant for traditional South Indian flavors. Strongly recommended.

It is one of the fantastic restaurants I have visited. It's pure vegetarian with master chef level dishes.

We were shocked when we saw the menu card, there are a variety of options.

Super place for a hearty meal, liked all the food, very good quality and tasty! Ample parking, good ambience, many staff. Variety of south food, one can relish the appam and parota equally!

The Journey of Annapoorna started when the brothers, Damodaraswamy Naidu, Rangaswamy Naidu, Ramaswamy Naidu and Lakshman Naidu decided to start a petty shop opposite to the Kennedy Theatre to support the family. With sheer determination on delivering quality products at reasonable price, the business started attracting more loyal customers. In the 1960’s the owner of the Kennedy Theatre on seeing their determination and quality of business invited them to run the canteen at the theatre. ‘ The Famous Keera Vadai and Filter coffee’ was born. Back in the days quality snacks was rare, serving piping hot Filter coffee and crispy keera vada cooked from fresh oil set a new roll to the business.

In 2years the Brothers were offered another canteen at the Central Theatre. The brothers were already planning on expanding as their customers were overflowing, selling snacks during the interval was restricting the customers. They decided to open their first bakery, Royal Coffee Bar at RS Puram. Following the Bakery, the brothers found a rental space on DB Road and decided to set up their first restaurant.

The first branch of Sree Annapoorna, named after the Goddess of food Annapoorani, opened its doors to customers in 1968. This was at a time when the city’s restaurant industry was dominated by two giants —Kenneis Bhavan and Ideal Coffee house. The two groups enjoyed a reputation as the food factories of Coimbatore because of the massive volumes of food they would produce. “Though these two giants were located close by, we did not aim at competing with them We only wanted to satisfy the hunger of those who came in search of us.We never dreamt of acquiring their customers but wanted to create our own set of customers,” said Mr. Ramaswamy

If you ask a native of Coimbatore, Annapoorna will be recommended as a must visit place u the Top of the list. Being grown up in Coimbatore, I have been visiting this place since 30 years (even after my relocation 20 years back). This restaurant has maintained consistency in taste and quality of the food items. No wonder how they are in top despite growing competition. Though all items are good, their signature dishes like Idly/ Vada immersed in sambhar, Roast (Long Crispy Dosa), Masal dosa, Poori Masala, Appam, Seva, Rose Milk and Fliter coffee are must try. One of the best hotel for Breakfast, lunch and dinner in Coimbatore city. The service is excellent and they make you feel at home. Meals is unlimited and even with heavy rush their service is extremely fast. You have options for North Indian, South Indian and Chinese dishes. South Indian dishes is definitely a must try and you will definitely not regret them. Don't expect too much spicy food here. But it's clean & hygienic place. Kids friendly. If your are going on weekends then you need to wait for a min of 10-15 mins. They have multiple branches within the city. Check for Sree Annapoorna only ample parking space available.

Quality food and quick service. Pure veg lunch and tiffin , sweets and bakes ,pastries are available. Always there is a wait. 50 years of making taste.... Every spot the experience resembles. Very systematic . Car parking card is free for first half an hour. Clean rest rooms in second floor. Has community banquet halls too.

We had family dinner here and the ambience was very good. Surprisingly, on a week end, we managed to get a table without much of a waiting time.

Went at around 7:30AM. We had a quick and friendly service. The food was good and overall the place was quite pleasant. Since it was early in the morning, there was little to no crowd/ rush. I liked ghee roast the most, followed by vada sambar and idly sambar.

This restaurant is legendary and the meals and other food items good. If you are there to have meals then it's better to have meals outhall and not in AC as basil leaf meals gives good feel. Thanks to the hotel management for making parking efficient by providing multi level parking.

Situated at E Arokisamy Rd, R S Puram. Was able to stay at IKON for 2 days, so had the opportunity to visit this well known vegetarian restaurant a few times. The place is almost always crowded, especially during lunch time, but parking is satisfactory in the available place. Of all the items I was able to try, their ghee roast and coffee were among the best I have had. Price is a bit on the higher side, but I believe the food is definitely worth the price. Staff also is very friendly and helpful. Overall, this 60 year old restaurant lives up to the hype and keeps up with its high standards.

One should must vist this place. The food and services both are amazing and good. You can will feel the south Indian tradition vibes in the atmosphere.

Also must try the south Indian special lunch and coffee.

I always make it a point to visit the annapoorna in RS puram during my visit to coimbatore. There is a AC and a non AC section. Went here once for the breakfast and once for the lunch buffet. Food tastes excellent and the service is also very fast. Now they also have a section where they sell indian sweets and also donuts etc.

Extra ordinary food quality and various options in vegetarian both the food and service here was amazing! We ended up eating here several times. The staff took the time to talk us through the menu and helped us pick some excellent dishes specially prepared for that day.

Exceptionally well. I haven't tasted better thali and dosa. And the service was outstanding. My soul will remember this flavourful food.

The best Ghee roast & ghee masala roast I ever had till date! What a filter coffee! ...and good service from the staff. 3 chutneys and the sambar...oh my God .. i wish my mom could make it daily...so tasty

Ambience stands out. Food was great as usual. Better be early to avoid rush and waiting. Courteous staffs. Eat your heart out for 500 for 2 people. Quality is good, you will leave with satisfaction of tasting the best vegetarian food of Coimbatore’a pride. Best outlet of all the branches they have.
