Took the first ferry from fort kochi and then metro, and walked to reach here. It is splendid! Got to see a happy swaying elephant too! Ladies mist wear Indian clothes and gents are required to take off their shirt when going inside the girbhagriha.

Shri Poornathrayeesa Swamy in Thripunithura is guardian deity of Thripunithura, also known as Shri Santhanagopala Murthy. This large ancient temple was reconstructed during early 20th century. The circular sanctum is beautifully covered by brass sheets with structures of different deities. Shri Poornathrayeesa Swamy in the inner sanctum is in sitting posture, under 5 headed snake, with right leg folded. Very calm and clean atmosphere.

Sree Vishnu temple in Tripunithura is managed by Cochin Devaswam Board . Sree Vishnu as Poornathrayeesa or Santhana Gopala Murthy was the most powerful and revered deity of Tripunithura. We had a most satisfying Darshan in the morning.

Beautiful and ancient temple of Sri Santhana Gopala Krishna Swami. Also known as Sree Poornatrayeesha. The Lord is sitting on the lap of Adisesha with right leg folded, holding a lotus flower in His right hand. Arjuna installed this temple. Traditions say that Lord Vishnu offered the Deity of Sree Poornathrayeesa to Arjuna (the 3rd of the Pandavas), when he sought the help of the Lord to give rebirth to the ten children of a Brahmin. The ten children and the sacred idol were taken by Arjuna in his chariot and he handed over the children to the Brahmin. In memory of this event, a temple was built with a sanctum sanctorum in the form of a chariot.

One of the most famous Maha Vishu Temple in Kerala, the temple with the most number of festivals, one among the rare temples where lord vishu is worshipped in a sitting posture, Sree Poornatrayeesa Temple is unique in every way. This temple was the main deity for the Tripunithara Royal Family.
Visiting the temple during onam time gives a special vibe. The front gate of the temple is easily one of the most identifiable temple entrances. The west gate resembles that of Vadakkum Natha Temple, but smaller. The temple architecture is typical Keralite with rounded Sreekovil, Namaskaramandapam and a big Anakkottil. The ancient buildings surrounding the temple give it a unique retro style. The tall lamps placed at all four sides of the temple are eye pleasing.Other deities include Devi and ganapathy. Definitely a must visit temple.
The temple can be accessed by bus or metro. The nearest metro station is VadakkeKotta which is around 900 mtrs from the temple. The nearest railway station is Tripunithara railway station.
A small parking space is also provided near the temple.

Changed my life. Brought peace and happiness back toy home and family.
Children were suffering because of my poor mental state.
But after visiting this temple, my 12yrs miserable family life changed and all my past had been masked and less important.
Now my behavior at home has changed and my children are very happy about me after 12yrs misery.
