It has beautiful garden and architectures build inside. If you are a peace lover this place is definitely for you, though it is located at a distance from the main city but still its aura is worth travelling.

Timing of this library is 9am to 5pm and holidays on 2nd and 4th saturdays of every month,and the good thing about this library is that there is no noise of traffic and people, very quite place you can read and study with full concentration and also can enjoy some birds chirping...

Very beautiful and peaceful place , good for study

The most peaceful and meditative place in Dehradun for preparing for competitive exams. A treasure trove of rare books in a peaceful environment with modern and hygienic facilities. Library staff is very polite and cooperative. The building has a beautiful architecture modelling like a Tibetan royal palace surrounded by landscaped garden with flowering trees and lotus ponds, also a vintage Mercedes used by Dalai Lama kept as a open museum display.

This place is the best library in dehradoon, in a beautiful location away from the city hustle bustle. Ideal for studies. The library consists of books related to Buddhism, himalayas and many more subjects. They have good seating and with all the facilities like AC, computers etc. One has to register to sit inside the library, the registration cost is very minimal. Songsten library is always open for the visitors and it remains close on Sundays for everyone. They have canteen facility available. The library is 300 metres from the main road. The road leading towards the library is not so good and a narrow one but 4 wheelers can go through this road.

The place itself having calm and quiet surroundings, which gives Peace to the soul, it seems that ancient rishi (sage) might have used the same kind of place to gain knowledge.
We can found some collection on Ayurveda and medicinal plants as well.

It was Sunday so we can't enter inside the Liabrary because it was closed but i must say it's Beautiful

It is the first digital Tibetan Library , founded in 2003 by H.H. Drigung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche. In addition, there is a very beautiful white sandalwood Avalokitesvara (Kwan Yin) Statue on the top of the building with a wooden Mandala.

It's a great place to study in silence. The atmosphere is very congenial for studies, readings etc.
