Dr Ambedkar Stadium

The once cultural and sports hub in the city, Dr Ambedkar Stadium, that is now a haven for those indulging in anti-social activities, may soon be developed into a ‘mini-sports city’
The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) that owns the stadium took this decision based on their ‘conviction’ that anti-social activities in the stadium can be stopped only by making it a place for social activities. Authorities said that availing the stadium, even at night too, for sport activities at affordable rates will ensure active utilization of the property .
Facilities for various sports activities like badminton, basketball, etc will be developed at the stadium and the existing football turf will be given a facelift. Besides, strong fencing of the property to prevent trespassing, setting up a toilet complex, providing adequate lighting and ensuring electricity and water supply too is part of the plan.

The Dr. Ambedkar Stadium is a football stadium in New Delhi, India. The stadium is named in honour of B. R. Ambedkar, the famous dalit leader and chairman of the Indian constituent assembly. It opened in 2007 and has a listed capacity of 35,000. It is currently used for football matches. The stadium has hosted international football finals such as the 2007 Nehru Cup Final and the 2009 Nehru Cup Final, in which it attracted a capacity crowd.

The Ambedkar Stadium is one of the stadiums to have FIFA approved pitches for FIFA World Cup qualification matches in India. The other being the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai and Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.

Playing turf and boundary are good. But other areas not keep in neat. Right place for football coaching. If there will be walking area people can use for morning and evening walk

Quantity of rubber pellets is more as compared to other turf, so the ball bounce increased and control decreased

It's a very nice stadium in Kochi. It is not that much bigger like JNL stadium at Ernakulam. But it's a very nice place to morning exercise and jogging.

Beside it has a good football ground. In ground there is good grass. Some parking space also there. It is situated chest near to the KSRTC bus stand kochi.

Every football lover will love it. Nice turf stadium. Enjoyed a lot.

Super stadium in Ernakulam city. It's very much useful to locals and hostelers of Ernakulam for evening and morning football.The only problem is the less maintenance of the ground and the stadium premises.

The turf is awesome. GCDA, Kochi Corporation, KFA has spend a lot on this Stadium. There is not even a proper toilet or Change rooms. The stadium is used by Anti Social elements after it gets dark. 30% of the total area is covered by bushes. Cows and Cow dungs are available in plenty. Even Kerala team doesn't have easy access to this stadium. The administrators has no clue about Sports or what Sportmen needs.

Well maitained synthetic turf court, mainly for Football matches.

Good football stadium... Now kerala blasters young champs camp is being held there... It was one of the four practice ground for the under-17 world cup 2018... It is a good stadium
