Wanted to visit this place from the day I heard of this place. Not entered inside as its a in-house Temple and I was sweaty and unbathed...Place is more sanctified by Visit of Swami Vivekananda in 1862 hosted by Subrai Naik...AUM.

Very good place..... Swami ji stayed there 3 days....

A small shrine of Lord Damodar is famous throughout the city and is sanctified by SWAMI VIVEKANANDA in 1892. This temple is maintained by a prosperous family which is actually their house deity. This place is one of the few sites where Swami Vivekananda visited during his tour to Goa. The moment you enter this house -cum - temple , you will see an inscription reminding about the above fact. Every night a half an hour musical program is held which is totally devoted to Lord Damodar.
According to a legend, when the Portuguese attacked the Hindu temples of Margao(then Mathagram) , the Lord of the city Lord Damodar was taken away and was brought to this site . The deity stayed there for some time and then was shifted to Zambaulim where the present temple stands.
So do visit this "heritage" site!!

This is a Very old Temple of Lord Damodara, pet name dambab, mostly please visit on Monday, offer flowers coconut fruits etc. Favorite God of South Goa people, in the best time and worse time people remember only Lord Damodara, Lord Damodara is very close to the heart of Goan people. With taking name of God Damodara people don't start any new work or even old work before going to sleep they thank Lord Damodara, this Temple is easily accessible for the traffic there is parking place.

Lovely and ancient temple. Very peaceful and calming place. It's besides the road towards busstand.
