The Cochin Hill Palace is a fascinating historical museum that highlights Kerala's rich cultural legacy. The vast grounds and immaculate displays provide a window into the area's regal past. The museum's collection, which includes antiquities, paintings, and relics, offers a thorough look into Kerala's past. The visit is made more charming by the lovely surroundings and architecture. I thought this was a great spot to visit; the entry charge is low, making it a good trip for history buffs and those looking for a quiet cultural outing.

The Hill Palace Museum offers a captivating glimpse into Kerala's rich cultural heritage. Its vast collection of artifacts, including royal belongings, artwork, and archaeological finds, provides visitors with an immersive experience. The well-maintained exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering insights into the region's history, art, and lifestyle. The sprawling palace grounds add to the charm, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace. However, some visitors may find the museum lacking in interactive features or guided tours, which could enhance the overall experience. Nonetheless, the Hill Palace Museum remains a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.

Weekends are generally crowded, Monday they are closed. At the entrance you have to collect the tickets for entry, photo camera/mobile and parking. The building is on a hilltop, you can drive all the way up. Else if you park near the entrance, it's a decent climb. Plenty of parking space. They don't allow footwear inside the property, but you can wear socks. This is done in order to protect the tiles and the delicate flooring which is from the British era. The property was used by the rulers of Cochin province pre and post Independence. Its history and artifacts are very well documented and arranged. To properly explore, you may want to spend 2-3 hours. One of the popular Malayalam flicks from the 90s 'Manichitrathazhu'(National award winning) was shot on this property and fans can rejoice and recollect memories from the movie. They close it during their lunch hours(1-2pm). There is a small canteen for tea, snacks and juice, but for proper lunch it's advisable to venture out.

Largest archaeological museum in Kerala and the house of the Kochi Maharaja and was built in 1965. Worth to visit the place with children's as they can see our historical traditions, old jewels which was used by rajakudumbam. Lot of parking space available inside the palace, a small park for children's, a deer park also behind the palace. The palace and premises are also neatly maintained by Kerala government. Palace will strictly close by 4:30pm as they are under the control of Kerala police officials. The main gate will close by 6pm.

Good place for a traditional lover. The palace and it's compound was so beautiful, enriched with Beauty and nature. A calm and quiet place. The lunch break is from 1-2pm I think so. Because when I reached there once it was lunch time. Must visit place in kochi for a traditional and antique lovers. And one more thing is there are lots of couples spending time here 😅 there is a park for kids also. Over all good place for a one day family trip.

One of the must visited historical place in Kerala. This place is famous after Malayalam movie manichithrathazhu, so you can experience the shooting site and locations there. You can take ticket from the counter and the price is very less compared to the experience what you will get from here. There is some limitation to use camera and phone for take photos inside the palace, the videography is not allowed inside. There is a wide space available for park your vehicles. The palace is very well maintained and some of the areas are not allowed for public. One final thing, Try to reach as early as possible on morning or after noon, since the entrance time is 9AM to 12PM and 2PM to 5PM.

A place of significant historical importance. You get to take a glance into the rich history of kochi. This was my 2nd visit and the first one was when I was in 4th standard.

Ticket costs feel like alright but if you wanna take pics using even your mobile phone, you will have to pay extra. Oh and one important thing to note (although this highly depends on the honour system): you have to purchase passes for each mobile device you're going to use. i.e you and your group have 3 mobile phones, purchase 3 passes. The personnel at the ticket counter will aid you in doing so.

I suggest avoiding wearing shoes if you're planning to visit here. Normal chappels are preferred. You need to be barefoot while inside the castle walls. Even though the premises are kept clean, I wouldn't bet on it if there is light rain or something. (Thank me later)

You are not supposed to take videos. The staff will instruct you not to take videos but I don't know how they will enforce that. I think they trust their visitors too much. So I think let's all be good and follow the rules for once?

The place during noon time will become scorching hot so sunscreen and umbrella it is... But you need to use the cloak room so yeah... Make of it what you will....

Lots of rooms, lots of stuff to read, lots of stuff to learn... NOTHING TO TOUCH. The staff will instruct you if you are in need of any help. And there are security cameras throughout the premises.

There is a exhibit for the royal jwellery. PLEASE DONT TAKE ANY PHOTOS OF THAT. you might be in for a rough time if you do.

The toilets do smell a bit but it's not intolerable. There may be dogs in the vicinity but they are mostly harmless (I wouldn't bet of it though so keep your distance from them).

There are swings and park benches scattered around the area for you to swing. And sit of course...

Please be mindful of the students there.

If for some reason you're lost in this big palace, simply keep walking until you see a staff or a sign that says "This Way".

There is a small children's park at the foot of the hill if you have kids with you. Do keep an eye out though as the vehicle parking is right next to this park.

There is a canteen and there are spots where drinking water is available (although I only saw; or noticed, one spot where drinking water is provided)

The bill palace museum is a great place to learn about the Verma dynasty. The Verma rulers ruled the land for almost 600 years. The rich history, culture and heritage can be experienced in this majestic palace. The artefacts and paintings are reminiscent of the time when the Verma’s ruled the region. Must visit if you are a history lover. The museum is very well maintained and organised. The instructions are very clear and it takes around 2 hours to look through the entire museum.
