Entry fees 10 rs for adults per head and free for students..

Now there are very less number of birds there and they're on top of trees .. we can only see bats there ...

Beautiful forest located in the heart of the ernakulam.but one thing is when you go there you can see only couples in everywhere

The sanctuary has a lush green environment that showcases a noticeable temperature difference upon entry. However, the upkeep of the sanctuary leaves something to be desired. With proper maintenance, it could become an ideal destination for tranquility and escape from the bustling city life. The entrance fee is priced at rupees 10 per person. During my visit, I encountered only a few crows and bats, possibly due to unfortunate timing on my part.
Unfortunately it's not a bird sanctuary. 😬
Not maintained properly.
Bird watching tower is damaged and entry is restricted.
It's a calm place and only a good place for couples.
And also 10 rs for entry for seeing such trees and some 🦇

If you wanna go back to your old times or if you wanna feel fresh air and calm in the middle of city you should visit this place. Cause this place is capable to provide those. Well it's opens at 9 am to 5 pm.its close to high court and marine drive. It's a better place to bring young kids and family. If you are nostalgic about your village life you may visit this place. If the authority could take Care of this place it may look more beautiful because it's ain't have proper path to walk. But I just felt soo relaxed when I visited this place

Mangalavanam bird sanctuary.........the lungs of kochi City......located behind the high court of Kerala State and near old railway station......There are lot of trees , 🎄 plants ☘ and shrubs....This area contains lot of mangrove forest also.....Hundreds of birds are loved there......Calm and quite place inside the busy city.....

Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary is one of the most urban bird sanctuaries in Kerala. It is located on an island in the heart of Kochi city. Its area is 0.0274 sq km. Surrounded by mangroves and trees, many migratory birds come here. Spiders and bats are the main attraction here. Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, established in 2004, is the smallest protected area under the state forest department. It is also the only bird sanctuary in Kerala located in mangrove forests. The word Mangal means mangrove in Portuguese and the new buildings that have come up recently have hindered the birds' freedom.
According to a survey conducted in May 2006, there are estimated to be more than 194 birds belonging to 32 species. The number of bird species recorded so far from this area is 72. Apart from this, 17 types of butterflies have been recorded here. There are 51 different species of spiders.

Mangalavanam is very nearer to the High court and Marine drive.
We can spent time there between 9.00 AM & 5.00 PM.
A good population of mangroves makes this Bird sanctuary even more special.
But the area is not that much maintained and the paths inside the bird sanctuary are not good to walk.
Even though we can enjoy the peace of mind there👌

Ticket 10 rs, photography,vediography allowed with payment . Best place for natural photography. Kerala small bird sanctuary ,so so small area to walk but large biodiversity. Walk in distance from Kerala highcourt.

Best kissing spot in Ernakulam. You can even use it as an 10rs OYO, lots of spots to do nasty stuff.
Please stay away from this spot if you're not going as couple. Will be traumatising.

We won't believe that it's located in the heart of the city and most of the people don't know wear it exactly is . Actually it's located in the back side of High court of Kerala . We can see our old railway station next to it

Situated right in the heart of city , the place is also known as the lung of kochi.l and it certainly is. The place is a green area inside the city but it is not well maintained.Although it is called a bird sanctuary u can only find bats and mosquitos as flying beings. There is also a single monkey in place. The worst thing here is the plight of mosquitos. There is a small lake like place with a boat , but the boating is not operational.Magrovees can be seen . There is tree house which is the best thing available here. Around 8 people can visit place at once. It gives a good view from the top. The places enriches your. Bond with nature. It is a silent place behind highcourt. The entry is free.

The people around this place has to be more cautious and nature loving. Seminars and work shops has to be conducted with the help of the authority and a lot of tourism related business can be started here like kayaking boating camping etc. The nature has not created a havoc here but the people living around has made this place a junkyard. Anyone visiting this place. Please do take good care. This is the king and lungs of Kochi. It’s a shame from well educated people coming to the High court to park their vehicles around the sanctuary and create disturbance to the natural animal and plant life around. Very shameful.

Nice place for fresh air amidst the busy city life. Amazed that there is a place like that inside Ernakulam city. Lots of mangroves and a lake could be found inside along with a watch tower.

Nice and neat atmosphere in the middle of Kochi city. A must visit place near High court of Kerala. And old Kochin Harbor terminus railway station. The railway station iyself is s treat for eyes. Suitable for a day out with family and kids.

A good place for eco lovers.The oxygen parlour of Kochi City.A hub for overseas birds.Entry restricted by tickets.Behind High Court of Kerala..The meals shop with fresh fish fry( Chala Kada) near by is a rush restaurant...but a must try dish.
