Dehradhun~Forest Research Institute estb 1878 on 450 acres is one of the largest Univ & research centre in the world, FRI also contains 6 museum on forestry. It has largest knowledge base on Trees,Soil Forest, birds & Environment !
There are six sections in the museum:
Pathology Museum
Social Forestry Museum
Silviculture Museum
Timber Museum
Non-Wood Forest Products Museum
Entomology Museum
The architecture of building is 114 yrs old worth a visit an architecture marvel with zero flaws made by urad dal cementing and strong bricks which cannot be broken by Human Hand . Too Note ~Has two Rudraksh trees whose seeds have natural holes
(Parking available, fees 60Rs ,be ready to walk 8kms, good canteen)

If you want to relive in 19th century,This area is for you. Filled with mesmerising greenery and old buildings. You'll feel like you are in 1900. Also there is plant nursery inside, incase you want to take some flower or other shrubs home.

Best university in India in terms of the concept and streamline. Movie student of the year was shot here

One of the most beautiful campus I have been to. Entry is allowed to public with a certain fee and timing. Do not miss this grand architecture if in Dehradun.

Museums inside this research institute are outstanding. Collections are extraordinary. Entry fee to enter the area is Rs 10/- per head and for car Rs 30/- extra. For museums Rs 40/- per head and child below 10 years is Rs 10/- per head

It was founded in 1864 as the British Imperial Forest School by Dietrich Brandis. It is situated at Chakrata Road Dehradun. It has a main building and a green field and a Botanical garden on campus. It has a museum based on social forestry, pathology, timber,non wood products etc.
Entry fees also required.
