It is a famous picnic spot around 25 kilometers from Anantnag. Natural spring water, attractive beauty of flowers and huge area to enjoy especially evening. Hotels are available nearby for night stays.

Botanical Garden Kokernag is one of the best places to visit in Islamabad District. This place is famous for family picnic and school day picnic. I used to visit this place during my school days. Lots of memories are attached to this place. I highly recommend this place.

The the botanical garden locally called kokernag is really a nature's gift for us in between there is a stream chilled water in there . Me and my family members are enojyed so much. The maine benefit.of this garden is a stream . Where each and every person taking bath playing with children's in this stream. I will share you some pics you can see this and experience that feeling.. I recommend you go there in some summer. With specially your family members.

I visited Kokernag in Kashmir and was amazed by the natural beauty of the place. The unique chicken paw shaped spring is truly a wonder to behold. It's an unrecognized gem in Kashmir. Very few tourists visit this gorgeous garden. Just 2 hours from Srinagar, Kokernag Garden is a spectacular destination.

It was my first time there , being a Kashmiri.. now this place is among my favourites.
It is literally a dream place , beautiful gardens with streams following in between them ,feels like an island ,nothing less than a Switzerland. I just wanna see this whole garden in full moon.

If you are in kashmir and are fond of gardens, this place is a must for you. You should opt to live in the jktdc hut provided by j&k tourism which is in the mid of the garden. This place is a central point to visit senthe top and achabal and hence you should stay for a day. There are many springs in this gardens and they all look breathtaking after sunset. Must visit if you want to feel the nature in peace and silence.

The icy water is good to step into and there is enough place to accommodate all.

Weekends should be avoided.
The roads are under construction so it takes more time to reach.

Local fruits 🍎 🍇 and 🍒 can be had in bulk.

Well maintained garden with an underground stream makes for a spectacular view. Popular amongst locals as a picnic spot. JKTDC cabins available for stay and non-vegetarian lovers should try the trout fish.
