This is a hidden gem! The crystal clear waters and white sand create a picturesque location.. Walking along the shoreline itself makes us peaceful and relaxed. We can get a lot handcrafted ocean products, adding to the charm of the experience. The leftover of the old church and buildings add a touch of history to the scenery, making it even more attractive. A must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts.

Danushkoti, the tragedy story of the place. It was famous as a pilgrim centre. After Rameshwaram one more well was situated in this island. Devotees use to visit this place. There was only train link. No roads because entire travel was on water. During 1964 Dec this place
hit by a terrible cyclone Hurricane and the entire place was ruined and became a history. Madras govt declared place is unfit for living. One train was stationed at Danushkoti and the train, station, church and residential houses were rained and after cyclone no one and nothing traceable. That was told that around 2000 victims were missing. After 30 years slowly when water level reduced heap of sand were come out from water. Authority tried their level best to trace the main land from heap of sand.
Now we are seeing ruined old buildings which stood facing force of water.
Good road was done from Rameshwaram to Ramasethu via Danushkoti.
Good place to see. But one or two drops water from eyes who knows or heard the tragedy incident happened exactly 40 years ago.
Thanks for reading.🙏🙏

Imp. Timing is fixied to visit this place Morning 6 am to evening 5 pm.

Dhanushkodi isn't just a beach, it's an experience that washes over you like the turquoise waves lapping at its shores. Imagine, the southernmost tip of India, with endless stretches of pristine sand, the water shimmering in aquamarine and emerald hues, where legend whispers of Lord Rama's bridge. The journey itself is an off-road adventure, adding to the thrill. You breathe in the fresh sea air, feeling the world stretch before you, and an immense sense of peace washes over you. It's more than a beautiful beach; it's a touch of history, a whisper of myth, and a burst of happiness for the soul.

Dhanushkodi, located in Tamil Nadu, India, is a place of great historical and natural significance. It's known for its serene beaches, clear blue waters, and the fascinating remnants of a once-thriving town. The cyclone that struck in 1964 devastated the area, leaving behind ruins that now serve as a poignant reminder of nature's power. Dhanushkodi is a place where history whispers through the winds, and nature's beauty captivates the soul—a must-visit for anyone seeking a unique and contemplative travel experience.

Dhanushkodi has improved a lot from my last visit some 11 years ago. A direct road now takes you directly to land's end. The beach has powdery sand and clean and calm waters. Very nice for a relaxing swim

This place is one of the majn tourist attraction after Rameshwaram temple.
This place is big enough to handle a large crowd and surrounded by lush seas.
Heavy wind streams are comman here and you ll get many damaged places due to tsunami.
Various shops of sea artifacts and sea food will easily be located.
Overall must go place .

The untouched landscapes of Dhanushkodi offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors can marvel at the stunning sunrises and sunsets that paint the skies in hues of orange and pink.
Exploring the remnants of the ghost town adds an intriguing historical dimension to the area's allure. It was peaceful and we can had a view of Srilanka as well.

Arabian Sea one side and Bay of Bengal the other! Danushkodi is the last road of India from where Sri Lanka is just around 25 kms ahead. This was a major town back in 1940s until the cyclone devastated it in 1964. This ghost city is believed to hold significance for Lord Rama and Hanumana according to Hindu scriptures and Muslims believe Prophet Adam crossed Sri Lanka and reached this place. This place was a major commercial hub during the period of British colonisation in India for connecting India and the neighbouring country Sri Lanka.

The vibrant streets of Danshkodi welcomed me with the soothing sounds of the waves and the gentle sea breeze.
A stroll along the coastline revealed the rich cultural tapestry of Danshkodi, where traditions seamlessly blend with modern life.
The local markets are a sensory delight, filled with the colors and aromas of fresh spices, handmade crafts, and exotic.
The culinary scene in Danshkodi is a treat for the taste buds, with an array of seafood delicacies and local dishes to savor.
Leaving Danshkodi was bittersweet, as the memories of its charm and hospitality lingered long after my departure.

Amazing place to visit and one should carry a bathing gear along. Beautiful colour of sea
And sand is heavenly to walk. Visited during evening and colour on west side was like green glass whereas east was looking like deep blue. Looking at the land shale and stretching out into distance makes you yearn to fly/ swim there( don’t do it as it’s dangerous).
