Dhanushkodi offers a unique glimpse into a bygone era. The remnants of the old town, ravaged by a cyclone, create an eerie yet beautiful landscape. The drive along the Pamban Bridge is stunning, and the beaches are pristine. Be sure to watch the sunset - it's unforgettable!

A long road, beaches and sea.... unique experience. Sunset here looked so splendid. A calm beach is here to relax. After 5 pm all the tourist buses depart. After that u can enjoy it here till sunset. We hired an auto from rameshwaram to here in 1200/- to and fro.

A nice spot to visit on sunrise, fewer tourists than expected. The road to the point is beautiful with Indian ocean on your right and Bay of Bengal on your left.

Embarking on a recent adventure to Dhanushkodi Last Indian Road was nothing short of a soul-stirring experience. As the road meandered through picturesque landscapes, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building with each passing mile.

Upon arrival, the sight of the abandoned ghost town—remains of a bygone era—stirred emotions I hadn't expected. Walking along the sandy shores, with the salty breeze caressing my skin, I felt a profound connection to the history and resilience of this place.

The drive to Dhanushkodi, with its rugged terrain and breathtaking vistas, was an adventure in itself. The sound of waves crashing against the shore, the soft touch of sand underfoot—every little detail added to the enchantment of the journey.

Dhanushkodi marks the meeting point of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. The currents here are strong, making it an intriguing spot for nature enthusiasts. It lies in close proximity to Sri Lanka, with the Palk Strait acting as a natural border.
In the daytime this place was very hot, so please try to go in the morning or evening.

Dhanushkodi point 📍
The Bay of Bengal and Gulf of Mannar Sea of Indian Ocean merge at this point. Looking sunrise from this point is so magical.
They allow people only from 6 am to 6 pm. We went there on a public holiday and it is very crowded. Not recommended to visit here on any public holiday.

A buried Village with its last remnants is now a huge attraction of variety of tourists coming all over from India .The road drive and side sea view is a scenic beauty to watch . Though sea would be rough during rainy and stormy days , it would be a rare sight .otherwise on a normal day ...just enjoy the atmosphere .

Since tourists footfall is increasing day by day ....this place has been annoyingly overcrowded all the visiting hours .So plan your trip very early in morning to avoid last time rush and parking scarcity .

One of the beautiful places of India. Driving on the road covered by the sea on both sides is a mesmerising experience. The government had a taken wonderful effort to make this place accessible for public and now the people's responsible to keep this place clean and sacred.

This place is just beyond wonderful. History states that it was once a beautiful harbour but was destroyed in the tropical storm of 1964. What remains today is just memoir of a railway station and a church. This is also the dead end of India. Also, this the point from the ram setu starts and ends in Sri Lanka. It's a nice place to visit and enjoy watching the two different water bodies The Indian Ocean and The Bay of Bengal meeting each other.

Must visit place. Everywhere there is sea.
You get thrilled as Ram setu is just in front of you under the sea. Lord Ram had come there built the setu. You can clearly see the island which is on Ram setu.
No washroom available at this place so please plan accordingly. Few food stalls are present on the way but they are generally closed. Photographs and video are added along with this review.

One will feel amazed for being here. I can't express my excitement when I reached here. A point where you see sorrounded by three different oceans. It's a great creation by whoever. The religious feelings followes then. The view is charismatic. Generally peaceful waves. People get in the water and it looks harmless. But you will not be able to take a bath in fresh water. The drive to the spot is another amazing feeling. I suggest it to be a worthwhile visit for every Indian.

Visited during March.. The view is one of a kind that all should experience in life.. It was a delightful experience to have seen the beautiful arichal munapu, the end of rameswaram island where the Arabian sea and bay of Bangalore meet.. Also the devastated, once progressive dhanushkodi town, the view of which will definitely take you to somewhere else in the world.. Driving through the road to the end point surrounded by white sand is another level experience..the entire area is very photographic and you can't stop taking photos..Some small shops by natives were there from which we purchased some fancy items and also had fresh prawns fry made right in front of us.. We can only stay in rameswaram to visit dhanushkodi where there is good accommodation facilities are quite limited..

place of historical significance with a unique charm. The serene beaches and remnants of a ghost town offer a hauntingly beautiful experience. The journey to Dhanushkodi is an adventure in itself, with the scenic drive adding to the allure. While the infrastructure may be basic, the untouched beauty and historical intrigue make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a different kind of travel experience.

It is an abandoned town at the south eastern tip of Pamban island. This town was destroyed in the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone. A road has been built in 2016 and you can drive upto the last tip of the island. However. being a weekend. it was heavily packed with tourists and had to park our car alongside the road and walk. Entry to this island is not allowed after 4:30. You can stay there till 6 pm. It is also referred to as Ghost Town.
