For tracking lover - it is a best place for visit, from their you can visit entire lohaghat, best view but it have approx 45° Climbing paths which make it difficult to climb. But it best place to visit.

Vanasur or Banasur. Not much is known about its history. I visited it on my way from Reetha Sahib Gurudwara to Champawat. It is around 56kms from Gurudwara. It is a must visit if you like trekking/hiking, like to see a view and have an interest in history. It can also turn out to be a fitness test for you. You will have to park your car on the road and then take a cemented road (CC) to the top. Locals as always are friendly and helpful and guide you. Total distance from the road to the quila is approx. 1.5 to 2kms. View from the fort is mesmerizing, the entire valley on all the four sides. Fort is in a neglected state and needs conservation. No ticket is required, your hard work to the top is your payment. There is railing on the entire path and bench in between where you can rest. Carry some fruits (Grapes) and water/juice/cold drinks for whenever you may need it. Be very careful of Biccho Buti (Scorpion Plant), I am uploading a pic for reference, it can cause rashes and pain even if you touch it, cure for the same is also near, and locals can identify it. My trip to Vanasur Fort from top to bottom and back was worth the adventure.

Its a good place to hang out with family and friends. To reach the top there is a tracking of around 1.5 kms. Once you reach the top you will have mesmerizing views of Himalayas and the nearby places. Situated at a distance of around 5 kms from nearby town of Lohaghat you can find local transport service to reach the place. If you are going by own transportation you can park your vehicle at the foothill and start walking. Need to carry your own food and water as you will not find much options for the same.This place is associated with Banasur, thousand-armed son of mythological king Bali who was slayed by Lord Krishna. If you live ancient history and mythology this place is must visit for you.

At a distance of around 3 to 4 km from main Lohaghat and walking distance is 1 km from road. It is one of the most popular places to visit in Lohaghat, located at the highest summit that offers the great view of valleys, big hills and dense forests.
The view of the endless expanse, dotted by hills and forests is in itself worth the trip to the hill station. Don't miss the sunset from this point; dipping sun is magical from this area as it seems to be going down in the valley.

Beautiful place with small track..... After reaching the top u can see the whole lohaghat area.... Like bisang..... Lohaghat market.....its a 360° view out there ❤‍🩹

If you want to trek don't go there by vehicle... Start your trekking from lohaghat with local guide through forest route... View from there is fantastic...

This fort is built in the memory of Banasur, the thousand-armed son of the mythological king Bali of the medieval era, who was killed by Lord Krishna.

Enchanting Place

I visited during the winters, a small hike from the main road brings you up to the mystical ruins of this small fort. You can enjoy a 180 degree view of the Himalayas, a very peaceful place with the sun-baked hills beneath. It is close to Lohaghat, and you can always go to Abbot Mount, for the view with the devdars....if you want forest and Himalayas.

Lonely place. Nobody is present there.
But very peaceful and also you can see the Himalayas clearly. So yes I love nature.
So I love hills and greenery. And hence love this place.

Difficult to climb but it was worth it.

It's a wow place... unexplored but rich with lots of fun.... beautiful views from the hilltop after a 1 km trail which was worthy...will recommend for all off beat lovers
