Y Cafe & Restaurant - Best Café in Dehradun

Place is cozy ...food is okayish .service is not so good ...its late ...people are not there to attend us and there are is no service at all.

You need to visit this cafe to have freshly prepared delicious food at a reasonable price in a restaurant bedecked with books and inspiring quotes.
I would surely return to this cafe in my next visit to Dehradun.

This cute little and cozy café has a casual vibe and so it's a perfect hangout zone for an evening chit chats.
Even if you are visiting solo, they have a micro library which has various genres (in case you enjoy reading).
Otherwise just enjoy looking at their style of interior and decoration along with your meal.

So a few days ago I visited this place by the name of “Y cafe” in Dehradun (Uttarakhand) on Subhash road, behind St. Joseph’s academy. The moment you walk thru the gates you get transferred to another place and another era. You will not find the normal hustle and bustle of this busy city inside the premises of this property.

With such green lawns inclusive of outdoor seating the building itself is quite vintage. The colour palette of the cafe gives you the feels of an English era coffee house, however, with a contemporary menu.

With the worldwide pandemic global citizens are facing, Team Y is taking every precautionary measure they can in their power to ensure healthy, safe and hygienic food. Not only are they noting the temperature of their visitors and employees but also sanitising the whole place periodically.

I’ve made an attempt to capture the serenity of this place. If I were to give my opinion I would ask each and every one of you to visit this place at least once to feel and enjoy not only the ambience and positive vibe but also their ever tempting food.

Again these guys killed it in not just the aspect of taste but presentation of food too. For all that I tried the menu was vast and extremely scrumptious. Definitely recommend a visit. Well I shall leave the review of the food for another day.

Awesome food and a very chill decor. You can spend hours looking at their walls. The food is good. Go there with an appetite because the portions are big.

It was my last day of stay in Dehradun. This cafe is amazingly cool. You can get your hands on thousands of books, quotes, wallpapers and play your playlist.
The best part is, it's an amalgamation of hotel, cafe, dine-in, dine-out in the open, take away or just enjoy your coffee with cigarettes.
We tried black coffee, pizza and sandwiches with chips. The taste was appreciable.
The price is also as per normal cafes. You can say (300-400 for two).
The owner is a great guy. I asked him why he named his cafe "Y" and he answered that very wisely. Visit yourself sometimes and ask him why "Y"?

Lovely and cozy, food is priced reasonable and is good. The cafe is really pretty with lots of books, worthy to be called an artist's retreat.

I recently ordered from this wonderful cafe online, and I'm absolutely thrilled with my experience! The chocolate tart was a divine treat, with its decadent, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The paneer tikka sandwich was a burst of flavors, and the paneer was grilled to perfection. Their cold coffee was the perfect pick-me-up, creamy and delicious.

Definitely one of the best cafe in the city......the ambience is good.....the place is well organised with board games and books....there are lots of food varieties to choose from shakes to smoothies to burgers to burritos to desserts.......the burritos and Panini was amazing and the quality was really worth it......I had a great experience eating here

If you looking for cafe in Dehradun to chill out with your friends in peace,no hustle and bustle and what to have a light meal ,so this Cafe is perfect for you. The ambience ,shakes and overall place is totally amazing. And yes if you are a book lover too have a lot of collection of books. It is worth to give a try .

Simplicity and authentic. You will like it if you need tranquility and authentic food. They have open garden space for seating and at the same time indoor restaurants having European styled interior. I must appreciate the look, feel and atmosphere that they kept intact for so so long to give the experience of authentic DOON culture, intimate architecture setting of typical original design of olden Dehradun. I feel Nostalgic whenever I visit this place. I wish others would have also tried to keep the traditional and cultural architecture of authentic DOON the same way how Y Cafe & restaurant preserved.....

3. Food was good. Drinks were tasty.

5. Lot of books to read.
6. Good for spending some time alone.

Very cozy & beautiful, very well decorated. You can see the efforts made by the hosts. Enjoyed the delicious food.

The OG Cafe but trust me it is more relevant and contemporary than many who have kickstarted much later.The books,the colonial vibe,great food!!!
